After they killed this game with DLCs (minus Broken Steel) I almost wish they'd let this brilliant game die with dignity, but instead they're gonna milk the franchise for all its worth with Fallout Vegas and maybe even a Fallout 4. this was an outstanding game, but after 5 DLCs 4 of which were shit, it needs to be done for it to even have a shred of respect left

Look I loved Fallout3, and with a passion at that, but the thing is bethesda didnt have enough confidence in itself for it to stand alone. instead they brought in totally different styles of gameplay with anchorage, and had the other dlcs be so different from what we were playing before that it didn't even feel like fallout. after they brought in motherfucking aliens it became obvious that bethesda are corporate whores

@fubudge I don't understand how you think the DLC ruined the game. The most the DLC could do is ruin the DLC. The game had an enormous amount of content and Bethesda set a good example by constantly adding to it. There are plenty of video game sites out there previewing and reviewing stuff so that you don't have to buy something without an idea about its quality and direction.

The original has all the things the DLC's have, they only differ, because the DLC's go much deeper into a single theme or objective.

The alien blaster and UFO (I think, is found N-E on the map) prove that the aliens exist in that universe, so why does that mean they can't upduct people?

The virtual reality that you enter in Vault 112, is also shown in the Operation Anchorage DLC, it's a virtual world so of course it's linear

Although, I agree that the Mothership Zeta wasn't all that good.

@fubudge Hello? Ever played the original games? Aliens have always been part of Fallout lore, if not the most well-known. The Alien Blaster was in the old games. I enjoyed the DLC. It wasn't as good as the main game but that's expected in add-ons. You want a game's worth of content you buy a game. Want an add-on? Get an add-on. Nobody made you buy the DLC.

I also might add...as a student of child development -mother of three, and teacher...kids videos have got to change...its more like they are Basic Training combat videos for 6 years and up. Its kinda like what I see overseas... in certain countries...with them training children how to hate other countries and teaching them fire arms training at real training camps.

The game is incredibly violent, but it is marketed to mature audiences and the box clearly states that it is for mature audiences.

We've come to accept that there is a place for R rated movies, but they're not for all audiences. Society still views video games as being for children when the truth is that people from all age groups play games. I don't find games targeted toward 10 year old children interesting and neither do many people my age.

just finished the game, not very long. to me the gameplay was dissapointing, and the storyline was also dissapointing. make sure you do all the side quests before completing the game or else you cant come back. its also dissapointing that not the whole map gets included in the main quest storyline. very big dissapointment to me anyway.

The point is for you to explore the whole map rather than just follow the main quest. Because when you explore you discover all of the awesome stuff that they have hidden, quests, towns, alien space ships. Alot of really cool stuff. You just have to walk around the wastes for an hour. Or look up a complete map online.
