I lived in Poland for 6 months, and they're not very good at it, but it means that Polish people smart themselves up enough to read subtitles. I mean, I read subtitles, but how many people in America do. That's why they're remaking the Millenium Series. Completely pointless. Fuck you Hollywood.

@Khamoutskikh i know that the German language sounds a little bit harsh n´rude..but they use professionell german actors to dub foreign movies , and they often casted by the sound of their Voice so they can be near by the original..I dont say it sounds nice^^...but its 100000x better then 1 man is dubbing everybody^^

@Sekii1994 We do dub movies, but the majority of them are for kids or they look like they were for kids(Shrek, Ice Age), lektor appears when a movie is on air in TV, at cinemas there are always subtitles or dubbing

I'd only allow it for movies like shrek and the like as you said, movies for the younger generations. Other than that people should just learn the languages if they so want to watch and understand them.

It ruins the movies when you see an actor but hear a completely different voice coming from him that on top of it doesn't correspond to his lip movement.

@Khamoutskikh in general german dubbing is very good in most cases. nobody can help you if you just dont like that language. but in the case of friends i have to agree that the dubbing is bad as hell. they all sound like thiy're 16 years-old teenagers with androgynous voices..

OK, I've got here completely by accident and while I agree that giving this clip an English title is misleading, I'm simply shock how RETARDED the comments are.

Yes, this "lektor" method is far worse than subs (for that reason I don't like watching foreign shows in Polish TV), but believe me, when you are use to it it's far, far better than poorly done dub, that is standard in German TV for example.

@NULUSIOS Vietnamese do the same. I've tried to watch this one-voice dub thing once and I couldn't last 5 minutes. It is impossible to follow like a normal viewing. As soon as you turn your head, you're all lost because you're not who just said what.

@taha1366 Steady on chaps. Okay, the title should be in Polish to avoid wasting time - I agree. But the lektor is surprisingly popular. It always makes me laugh when a woman is shrieking something hysterically for about 15 seconds and then the lektor guy just says 2 words deadpan flat voiced. However, the idea is that you can hear the original voices so you know the emotion of the speaker, the lektor simply clarifies what was said. Bear in mind that most people in Poland understand some English.

yeah it's polish, that 'talk over' its called 'lektor', which means something like narrator in english. It's better than dubbing believe me, dubbing sometimes just ruins entire movie, while lektor it's always ok, of course subs are the best and we use them mainly in cinemas, on tv it's always lektor/dubbing

Now, i'm talking for the italian voice actors, for those of the other countries i agree with you ^^ the only languages who can dub well except the italian are russian, english and japanese. They are 3 languages which can adapt on nearly everything

I'd just want to listen to the actual actors :p I'd probably enjoy a show more without that 'lektor'.
