No not at all Dean. It has nothing to do with the Australian dollar. (Even tho' last time I was in Australia 11 year ago, the USD was worth TWO AUS$, which is almost the OPPOSITE of reality now!)
No bro, the fact is that AUS *TAXES* the fuck out of their cars and thats why they cost 40,000+
Cars on average, in AUS cost about twice what they do in the USA.
No dean get it right. Thats CALIFORNIA. We have VERY strict laws about air quality control that are becoming more and more strict all the time. Look up PZEV and see what I mean.
Thats PARTIALLY ZERO EMISSION VEHICLE you soot head.
sucks too be you then lol dw australia is bad but not asd bad like my mate got defect for a exhaust system if he puts the performance one back on 30grand fine australian so i guess where guna get as bad as california...how are petrol prices there where looking at 1.45 for petrol as in unleaded/
1.45 per L? We still use the stupid American measurement system. We pay $3-4/gallon or about 1.20-1.50 per L depending on the state taxes. The *BIG* problem with autos in AUS is that my 2006 Subaru Lgt w/ 250hp cost me (including tax, license and fees!) less than $28,000 USD... Same care is over 40k in AUS!

Also consider that California has more people than Australia... Realistically, what we do with our emissions as a state is one of the most important environmental issues in the USA right now. CA is making tighter regulations and USA/feds are saying CA does not have the right. Funny no?
And having been to AUS and having several close friends from AUS and TAZ, having spent time down their for a Sydney-Hobart, I can tell you with some level of certainty, AUS IS A WAY BETTER PLACE TO LIVE THAN THE USA.
all new cars have to pass that test world wide dude not just California except older cars that get a bit of lee way. if not cars in California would be sold after the first year of buying as cars just get older and the emissions get worse......

whats the population of california
deanmaso 4 years ago
Australia = 17-18 million people
California = 38-40 million people
15+ million people = California's greater Los Angeles county alone!!!
Not only that but the economy of California is way more than twice that of Australia. This is all info available in any current ALMANAC
ProductionDesignrMAX 4 years ago
yeah, too bad that the Australian dollar is now worth MORE than the U.S. dollar.
