@Lunarvx22 Are you crazy?! The DOS version had horrible music compared to the Amiga version of Monkey Island. It is the low video quality on Youtube that ruins the Amiga sound. Go find an old Amiga 3000 and play the original MI.

There are always exceptions to every rule, i have played the ps2 and half life and the it is amongst a handful of titles that are exceptions to the rule but on a whole they really do not tend to make what i would call 'decent' games anymore (i myself didn't enjoy half life 1 or 2 anywhere near as much as the original monkey island games when i fist played them as a child).

@9thCircleProductions the only diffrence between the orginal and the remakes are better graphics and voice acting, both of which can be turned off to make the game the exact same as the original two MI games, well at least the PC version does don't know about the console Special editions.

One of my alltime favorites. Pure classic at it's best.

For sure it's the best adventure there is and it's so damn atmospheric. Simply outstanding. And the graphic is just amazing! You have to consider that this game was released in 1990 on PC and in 1991 on Amiga. I prefer the Amiga version, not only because of the music. All together fits perfectly. Good old times, I miss you!

anyways just one pity thing: 2 of the best ingame-jokes are missing: the 3 headed - monkey (to fool the canibals) and the canibal "jail"-DOOR, when you return with no gift and beeing jailed again the "skin" of the door changes 3-4 times, the last if i remember right was a metal/steel-lookin safe-door... "that will do it" (keeping him inside..) :-)

if you want to play the amgia version then use a amiga emulator if you want to play the pc version then try SCUMMVM(the SCUMM emulator) as I find it runs the game better then DOS box

The remake of this is great! I'd never played it before but got the remake yesterday on Xbox Live Arcade, loads of fun and the ability to switch between classic and special edition at the push of a button is just awesome. =))

I hope number 2 gets the special edition treatment as well, haven't played it either. Obviously Curse doesn't need it though, just a slight resolution upgrade at most.

The music of the Amiga version is still unsupported, but it's being worked on as part of the Google's Summer of Code (an annual code-fest where Google pays students to work on a variety of Open Source projects, like ScummVM).

I cant believe this is coming out for the xbox 360, this game and all the series were amazing on the Amiga, brings back so many good memories, guy's who are younger than me lol, please give this game a chance, it was extremly funny back in the day, i can't wait to download this from the market place, i just hope they bring out all of them for the xbox and not just this one, Le Chuck's Revenge was my Fav.
