I've seen them live three times, and every time I just love them more and more. In the entire genre of electronic music I've never seen anyone with that pure energy and power of VNV Nation live, without the need for excessive theatricity. Ronan just gets up there and gives everything he's got. Plus he's a damn funny guy, I've been able to sit and talk with him a short time for two of the times I've seen them ;)

I saw them when they were in Milwaukee a week or two ago. I was less than 5 feet from the stage, and it was one of the most amazing experiences I've had, at least in recent memory. I even got to shake his and Mark's hands afterwards. =D

I'd not guess so. He doesn't look very comfortable in a live situation (speaking as a performing musician), and it's often harder to sing in a live situation, because it's hard to hear yourself a lot of the time, aside from tension/fear issues.

This is not very good audio, compared to what they sound like live, thats all. Ronan actually is very good live, and loves to talk to and interact with the crowd during the performances. I got to see them in Minnesota (I think a once in a lifetime opportunity), and it was so damn good I will go to see them again no matter how far I have to go.

well hardcore techno/rave era techno was at it's height in 92-93 because on mtv in america, they played it a lot. since then it's been downhill. in europe i know that the thunderdome and mysterland and hellraiser parties were at there height in 93 and have since died down with trance. happy hardcore was hated by everyone in 93. it was like jungle when it came out. everyone hated it. the uk was always cheesey and played it. but the uk isn't europe or the u.s. and not as big.
