You know it's so interesting to me how Hope was "killed" by Ernesto Toscano but she ended up in the hands of Stefano. The same about Steve, he was "killed" by Lawrence Alamain but ended up with Stefano. I always wondered how Stefano got them.

I don't know if anybody knows this. But, it was revealed that they taped a scene where Ernesto and Hope were actually alive and that explosion was nothing but a trick to thwart John and Bo from capturing him. Ernesto left the island with Hope as his prisoner.

Yes, but when Hope turned up alive, they claimed that it hadn't been her in the cage after all, but a double, Greta von Amburg. That rather got blown out of the water later, though, when they introduced Greta into the show, and she was so much younger than Hope. :D
