  • Bravo!well done, man!

  • Thanks man, great job.

  • if allthe videos were joined it wouldn't be an epic saga. which it is.

  • There should be a playlist of these videos...It makes sense to divide the storyline into several "chapters" like this, but a playlist would be very helpful.

  • The best movie I have ever seen.

The message behind this blew my mind, i really empathize with the ending.

  • The blog on Enkidu being a friend of the animals WAS right, BTW. Somebody "Hollywoodized" the story, to fit a trite Disney plot.

  • This is a great synopsis. I've been showing it to my World Literature students as an introduction activity for reading the whole Epic. They really dig the animations. Nice work!

  • A great ending for the story. Poor Gil.

    Handskakning

  • great story

  • Now I understand it! THANK YOU! Time to get a A on my test haha.

  • wow dude that was epic, now i want to read the story myself now

  • awesome! this really helped me study for an Ancient World exam thanks and great work! This was so much easier to understand!

  • This story is the first literary work in history. Gilagamesh was a real ruler of Uruk about 4500 years ago.

When the Babylonian KingKing Nebuchadnezzar II conquered Jerusalem and forced their intellectual inhabitants into exile in 597 BC. Here in Babylon, they were able to fill the gaps in their own tribal stories of the Creation and the Flood story. It is now generally accepted that most of the first five books of the Bible were written here, during the Babylonian captivity.

  • Generally accepted? That's a bit of a stretch. Actually, the theory is losing ground rather quickly. From the days of Wellhausen (specifically the Graf-Wellhausen theory), the four-fold division (JEDP) that really pushed for an exilic source has been cut and split so many times that it is no longer recognizable. Most scholars have left this tradition, though a few older profs can be found here and there.

  • @yazenmatloob thats pretty stupid for u to believe that.

  • Thanks! you really did a great job with this. How doing more?

  • fantastic

  • It's a wonderful story.

  • great artwork

  • This is what every kid should be watching when they want to see cartoons, stories you can learn from, I remember Alexander Dumas books, they were easy to understand in animation, so we can also empty the worthless facts of you brain from thousands of cartoon characters around, certainly disney ones.

  • you have no idea how much thi video helped me understand the epic of gilgamesh. If i pass my classical mythology class, its thanks to you. :)

  • I loved it!! Great, Great Job. Im sure you got an A.

  • Great video man, you put alot of work into it and it shows. I know the story is kinda like a cliff note, but it varies alot from the story i read, but then again that one might not be credible. Its a great story either way you swing it, good job man
