Did a vortEXpert just happen to be walking in this park when the dust devil occurred? Surely that is the most in-depth, detailed explanation of how a dust devil works that is humanly possible? Blew me away.

My friend Jonathan Vigh, the man explaining the phenomenon, was at the time of the video pursuing a PhD in Atmospheric Science. We just happened to be in the park enjoying a nice day and chased the dust devil. Obviously we could have had better production values, but we had trouble getting the dust devil to come back for take 2!

Was this filmed recently? Im asking because it looks as though it was filmed in fall because of the colour of the leaves. If this is true i am amazed that a dust devil formed, they are pretty rare from September through to February in the northern hemisphere :-)

In the Dust Devils, max speed reached is 40km/h (not enough to make a big dog to fly).
