  • wtf? lmao

  • Looks like a bunch of tennis balls, lol

  • sweet!

  • that looks really fun and i am NOT being sarcastic GOOD VIDEO!

  • fucking commenters thumbs down some GOOD opinions! it mus bee a dumbass who thumb down these comments

  • Did a vortEXpert just happen to be walking in this park when the dust devil occurred? Surely that is the most in-depth, detailed explanation of how a dust devil works that is humanly possible? Blew me away.

  • My friend Jonathan Vigh, the man explaining the phenomenon, was at the time of the video pursuing a PhD in Atmospheric Science. We just happened to be in the park enjoying a nice day and chased the dust devil. Obviously we could have had better production values, but we had trouble getting the dust devil to come back for take 2!

  • @mbparrish

So, he's basically saying that convection+conservation of angular momentum caused by even a minute fluid disturbance=dust devil. That's interesting, but what makes it peter out, then?

  • why is everyone giving good coments thumbs down??? i dont understand hahaha but w.e. great vid

  • All I see is leaves and trash. It isn't a "dust" devil if there is no dust. Wouldn't that just be a "whirlwind"

  • i didnt see it

  • to bright.i cant c it

  • that looked like it was so much fun, i love stuff like that...

  • today i was at a soccer field and that exact same thing happened

  • wow ur lucky to see that

  • wear goggles then run in lol

  • badass

  • i was in a dust devil once when i was in lanzerote i was in the pool and i didnt even know until i saw a plastic bag fly like, 40 feet in the air

  • Lol attack of the leaves ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. lol dustys are always fun to jump in :)

  • FUN!

  • i want to play with that thing too..

  • my lesson of the day

  • hahah lol indeed

  • Was this filmed recently? Im asking because it looks as though it was filmed in fall because of the colour of the leaves. If this is true i am amazed that a dust devil formed, they are pretty rare from September through to February in the northern hemisphere :-)

  • i want to be in a dust devil T_T

  • that lookes like fun even thought it made me dizzy just watching it!

  • lol.. i herd someone said ow.. lol

  • The leaves stung a little bit as they whipped into my face. The dust devil wasn't strong enough to throw me around, I just spun around inside it because it was fun!

  • the leaf devil will not going to throw u bcause they need to get more leaves(what i mean is they need to form like a dust devil) and spaces, its very dificult to the dust devil form

  • because wind speed is not great enough

  • you can see that because of:

    Hotness

    wind

    Coldness

and its because near to your place have no dust what i mean is little dust so The Dust Devilmake it "leaf" devil and watch other videos Small Dust devil can tickle u but leaf devil can spin u or if ur spinning with the leaf devil u can be actually throw off!

  • Terrible Guality unless it's from the dust

  • Leaves

  • er

    leafs

    i have no idea

  • Whirlwind!

  • mmm,some leaves.......exciting.

  • wtf, this is great u loner

  • "Dust" Devil? lol. more like "Leaf" Devil.

  • Good fun.

  • looks like a leafdevil

  • Amen to that! :')

  • You should see those suckers pick up tumbleweeds

  • you people are taking all the fun i've never seen one :p

  • thats no dust devil that a leaf devil

  • Exactly, if it were hay, it would be a hay devil. And etc for other objects. Hmmmmm cows......devil

  • The only ones I've seen here in Kentucky are no wider than my foot and last 3 seconds. Amazingly boring.

  • the strongest dust devils can flip over a car and will have no difficulty lifting humans

  • You're wrong.

Only tornadoes and hurricanes can do that with a car.

In the Dust Devils, max speed reached is 40km/h (not enough to make a big dog to fly).

  • nah they can reach 100kmph+ but still cant flip a car

  • lol why thumb me down cause im right

  • whatever... search Japan dust Devil, that could probably.

  • Not true.

there was a dust devil that recorded 70kmph+

it damage light structures at a carnival.

    and made a mess

  • yeah it was rated a EF-0....pretty cool actually for a dust devil.

  • I don't think dust devils are rated on the Enhanced Fujiat Scale

  • @hailstrm4 dust devils dont have ratings

  • I saw Dust Devil yesterday in one field :D I'm happy

  • i live in finland and my cousin says in their frontyard has been like that but that was short. it's weird because in finland we don't see even trombs lot here :S:S
