  • Need recommendations on seneca books and topics of death/anger. Help?

  • Thank you Alain for this rich upload.Stoicism has been and will always be my way of life....I have been a Stoic since 3 years now,and I love it really.

  • screw seneca im going to go read the secret and thing about good things

  • The way you think is part of fate's domain. It's going to change on its own at its own pace.

  • 2 people are angry

  • The Singularity will yield information that gives humans much more control over their destinies. Seneca will go into eclipse.

  • the word would not be "philosophical" but stoical. ....

and slitting your veins because a Terrorist tells you to, is weak, if not stupid.

    what an example....

  • @Spartakist85 You can also expect comments like this to arise...

Maybe he would be stupid if the so called 'terrorist' wasn't the dictator.

Know what your talking about before you speak your insufficient mind.

    what an example...

  • @wavesmag so you didn't manage to follow your philosophy, shut up and stay put ?

    why don't you?

  • @Spartakist85 maybe he should have fought him in a massive battle of glory then, wtf r u on about?

  • @wavesmag why should i ? i'm don't intend to die. or risk it, or hurt someone.

but if he was going to die anyway, why not try and fight first? whats so noble in suicide?

  • When I die, I want my body donated to science and my muscles sent to a body museum to be erected at a table playing cards. ^_^

  • this video SUCKED!!! I WASTED 25 MINUTES ON THIS PIECE OF RUBBISH!!!! how am i supposed to implement this crap?! This uploader always puts out bad videos. When I watched this one, I was expecting something that wasnt COMPLETE POPPYCOCK

  • @TheBerkeleyBear

    your anger is pathetic

  • @LfunkeyA my comment was a total joke. I don't know if you noticed, but I infringed upon every one of Seneca's values...

  • @TheBerkeleyBear

i might have to some extent. you should know that severe sarcasm does not come across very well in text, especially in if it's an online discussion and not a novel whose writer is known to be sarcastic. low context culture aside, visual and verbal communication will aid you a lot next time.

  • @TheBerkeleyBear Funny xD

  • video stops working after 7 sec. :-(

  • @AriSantas no point in getting frustrated about it mate ... as seneca said ... lol :-P ... you were hoping to see the video ... you ought to have been prepared to not have been able to see it .. :P

  • Greco-Buddhism, sometimes spelt Graeco-Buddhism, refers to the cultural syncretism between Hellenistic culture and Buddhism, which developed between the 4th century BCE and the 5th century CE

  • @qaplatlhinganmaH Yes. But please differentiate - the only place Buddhism and Greco-learning systems fused was in Greco-Bactria. Not in Greece itself.

  • @TKMSeznam12 watch Google video:

Thomas McEvilley The Shape of Ancient Thought

    youtube video:

Greek Buddhism Pt. 1 thru 4

  • I hope Dr. Bruce Banner watched this.

  • great channel thanks for these

  • gtreat video bro.. i seen most of your vids n jus wantd to say keep tha good work up...

    CHeerz

  • anger and fear usually go together

  • Its not only watching this video how we will understand Seneca's Philosophy, to understand this we have to change the way we think; its not stop of feeling things, the point its to understand that these things that happen in our life like death are nor evil, are natural things and will happen to us, and we must be prepared to don't loose the control of us. Foucault have done a nice work studying that way of life.

  • Davisito, that is easier said than done.

How have you changed the way you think?

Not looking to argue, just be informed.

I think the truth of reality and the wisdom

of mankind and beyond have already been written. BUT, you can read all the books on how to drive a car, but at some point even though you know the 'rules'

you have to 'live' by the rules

And that is why I asked you the question,

"how do you do that?" Thanks!!

  • I think you have already found the answer that you need, and I agree. Yes, you have to live. But live the life with self-consciousness, dont letting be guided by thoughts that are imposed to you. You have to be responsible of you. At least thats what I think and try to live, Socrates its good on that.

  • seneca such consider human sentiment with more importance, weep...we weep. after crying ends, life goes on but crying over a dead son is not a waste and it will never be

  • You are not understanding what seneca says, read Foucault to see more clearly the work on self that its required to do this.

  • in what context according to u is he saying that? what did he really mean by it?
