im into gaming and voicing, is it worth its money? and how much space would you estimate for it to fit, also how is sound cancelation (i have a very loud fan on alot of the time when im recording?)
I just bought a Blue Yeti. I am hoping it will be clean enough to record my C6 Yamaha grand piano with precision. Up until now, I have made demo mp3 tunes for my students, but the poor quality mike on my laptop does not record sustained notes for playback--sounds like I didn't pedal at all. I think I need to use the omni directional setting, correct? Thanks! Nice review by the way. Maggie
@maggieskindercorner Omni-Directional is more for conference calls and orchestras where you need to pick up sound from multiple directions. I would try the stereo setting first. Check this link for details bluemic.com/yeti/#/settings/
@tongdude1 I wouldn't recommend it if there's alot of sound in your house. Also, if you game in big room it's also not so good. Then again it is affordable. However, I would recommend a noise cancelling microphone. The Audio-Technica AT2020 USB is highly recommended or the AKG 220

For commentary of any kind, what would you prefer/recomend? The Blue Yeti, or the AT 2020?
i myself think the Blue Yeti IS a little better quality than the AT 2020, but i think i prefer the AT 2020 anyway, mainly because of the looks and it's size.. the Yeti is quite literally a Yeti..
@iAmRyet I've actually now also bought the yeti, it isn't as big as i expected though, not too much bigger than my old setup, but the looks are not that good in my opinion :P
Excellent video! What software do you use to create the opening title sequence? Also, what microphone did you use for this video? It didn't sound as good as when you tested the Blue Yeti via GarageBand. Thanks.
I bought this microphone from staples today, Jan 11th 2012 and I'm in Canada , bought from staples using a tiger direct price match ... It's really food and fun to use although it is pretty massive
The THX microphone certification program helped establish the audio input performance standard for which the best-selling Yeti microphone family is known. However, the microphone certification program will be discontinued over the coming months as THX will be focusing on its core home theater program (TVs, speakers, etc). Regardless of the discontinuation of this category,
Good Review. It seems like a great mic and a damn good price too. Perfect for msn, skype and stuff. The thing is, I play and I really enjoy playing acustic guitar and singing. How will it perform there. I also have a small studio (actually, it's a room with all my instruments in it). Sometimes some of my friends and I like to go there and record some stuff. How would it perform recording a guitar, a bass and a drum set directly into it?
Hi.. Well i do fandubs and i want to know 2 things: is this thing going to provide me a better quality (i kinda already know the answer but still...), second, do i need any kind of filter?
Dinosaurs will come out from underground; antichrist is a white gay man with red eyes; mark of the antichrist is a green electronic tattoo with sixes that is given when one stretches their hand to receive world passport; ufos=demons=aliens=ascended masters=ghosts=channeled entities=dead relatives during seances; atlantis is underneath mariana trench; china will attack russia; don't worship the antichrist; don't take his mark; don't go into a ufo ship under any circumstances.
is it my browser or is the sound cutting slightly or crackling from time to time? Not to flame but I mean with 140 dollars price tag I would be pretty pissed to have that happen
@davomrmac Hi Dave I have just purchased this microphone and your review has helped me :) Quick question do you edit audio to make the sound sound a little warmer?
Hey Dave Great video <3 I love your accent ^_^ I'm just a normal YouTuber with 200K+ views and I'm really leaning towards getting this mic. I just wanted to ask you, should I get a pop filter with it and if, which one? :) Thanks :)
@davomrmac Thanks for the reply :) Sorry, if I'm bugging you but which one should I get? The Yeti stands 1 feet high and most of the roxdon filters on amazon say they're 6 inches high :-/ Please recommend me a pop filter under $15 for the Yeti Pro :) Thanks again!
@ivs511 Well the pop filter only needs to cover the top portion of the mic. Even a cheap one from ebay would do the job. I use a RoxDon on my high end mic and a cheap ebay one (£4) on my Yeti Pro. The top portion (capsule) of the mic is a lot smaller, so a 4 or 6 inch pop filter would be fine.
hi, does it have to be hooked up to ur computer? my music room is not in same room as my comp. cant i plug it into my amp while i play guitar and sing? will it work?
@davomrmac Thank you for replying. I have a Sony Alpha SLT A55. It's the one that looks like an SLR but has the translucent mirror. It records 1080 video and I want to do video podcasts recorded live. The Yeti just looks so nice like a talk show mic which is what I love. I definitely want a mic on the table near me and not mounted on the camera. This is for audio quality, plus I'll have 2 people in shot. The multi directional function would be great when 2 people are on screen.
I really want the Yeti, but how can I record directly to my external mic port? It's USB only. Is there a way to convert from USB to 3.5mm jack or maybe use the headphone socket out to mic in on the camera? Thanks for any guidance.
hello, if I were to place this mic in the middle of our band recording space (with drums, guitar, bass, vocals.) would it pick up all the sound? or do you need to be close to it for it to pick up. please reply! thanks!

@Nightvisionlol Yeah it's made by the same company, this one is an upgrade off the snowball. The Yeti pro would be even better than the regular Yeti, etc etc.
