whats stupid is, because of this accident the series in Australia was cancelled, of course its sad that people were injured, but at the end of the day all motor racing is dangerous, and it could have been any damn car from any racing series that could have an accident like that, question is, if a crash like that happened in the v8 supercars category, formula 1, NASCAR would the series be cancelled. NO!!!! not fair for such a great close racing category to get dropped because of one bad accident

@yeolstrat many fences can do that; and they're employed at nearly ALL major motorsport venues. Just check out the fences at NASCAR, they stop 1.5 maybe 2 tons at 300+km/h. It was kind of a freak accident that the car came SO far off the track, they must not have thought something bigger was needed there.
