I'll be honest, Luke was probably my favorite character in the game by far. He wins most relatable character ever, in my book. *Maybe spoilers?* After the deal at Yulia city, I really felt for Luke even though what happened could reasonably be called his fault.
@Nevahwins It is his fault, but mostly because he was blindly following Van. But he didn't deserve the harsh treatment everyone else gave him on Tartarus.
I forced myself to finish this out of love for Vesperia. I felt it was absolutely worth it after I got past the huge pacing mess in the middle, but of course it couldn't stack up to Vesperia. Taking that a step further, I actually thought Abyss and Vesperia absolutely creamed the first Symphonia.
I understand that my hierarchy for the three team Symphonia tales games is the reverse of popular opinion. If anyone wants to be bored out of their mind, I can justify it.
You NEED to beat the game. Or at least make enough headway to see Luke mature. He transforms from Whiney Spoiled Brat to respectable person. Best part? It's actually believable. His maturation feels natural, not at all rushed!
this one great tales game, played it like a thousand times and still do...i liked the us op so i decided to download it and ended up with the vocal song...and loved it even more!! XD...anyway 5stars
Ya know I wonder if it was the pacing in TotA that got you. I find that most Tales games have spots where the plot drags like all hell. The character interaction usually pulls it through, but TotA is a particularly bad offender in that regard.
I do need to play ToV at some point, though having a Wii means ToS2 comes first.
The US Opening theme of Tales of the Abyss is one of MY favorites - and I'm normally -not- a rock/pop fan at all. The replacement orchestral for Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is probably my other US-version favorite, followed by the original Symphonia's orchestral.
honestly I prefer it with no vocals. I don't know. The music alone got me pumped to play the game over and over. without question, it's up there with symphonia and vesperia as my all-time favorite tales games
@Zapper101 I know you asked three years ago, but who the heck cares.
I've been playing the game, and the anime version somewhat disappoints me largely due to the amount of compression of the story. Although it follows the storyline right which I like, and fight scenes are decent, but story may be confusing if you haven't played it before.

I just imagined a 3DS sequel where all the characters look like they do in that picture. I would buy that so fast.

hopefully they put this in the 3ds remake

@killifish2000 is it because they both had overlimit?

@windwaker0rules
Yes. Overlimit was the sole reason. Bored yet? :p

The singer appears to really be into it. He must have loved this song.

and why wouldn't he, it's great :D
though I prefer Starry Heavens, and I prefer Ring a Bell over Starry Heavens.
danw91 2 years ago
I like karma, seeing as ring a bell didnt have much to do with vesperia's plot or the amazing guitar work

Yeah. They did an anime version of the game. I don't know how good or bad it is though.

The anime was really good, I recommend viewing it.
jfeight 1 year ago
@Zapper101 It was fairly well done and held very close to the original game.
Only complain i had is that the fight scenes could have been better done.

This was the US opening too, but it was an instrumental version.
