Dude, there is some things about wiffleball i dont get.

I play mens fastpitch in Europe, and i'm thinking off starting up an indoorleague here for the offseason. Here my q:

When youve hit a ground ball, the guys pick up the ball and eather play it second and then pitch for home, or just pitch for the strike plate straight away... why is that? -and what if they hit the plate????

We don't run the bases, so when you see a guy throw it to second there was a runner on first and they are trying to turn a double play. When the guy throws it to the backstop instead of second, nobody is on base or there are two outs. Hitting the strike zone is the same as hitting the backstop. You have to hit either one to get the out.

There is no age limit. There aren't alot of guys under 19 but there are a few.

I think the youngest I've seen was a 12 year old playing with his dad and his older brother. But I know there have been a couple of pretty good teams that were all 14 years old. I don't think there are any kind of age limits.

The yellow bats are ok if you're pitching to your 4 year old kid underhanded. If you're trying to hit what these guys are throwing you'd twist yourself in half.
