  • this app deserves 2000 more likes

  • Give himan iPad!,!,

  • por que para android no hay de estas cosas si tiene mas procesador y el galaxy de mas corre esto?

  • That song Jordan played at the end, is it available to listen to somewhere? Maybe here on YouTube? I just purchased this app, really cool stuff!

  • @fictionalsilence No, I'm afraid not - it was something that Jordan put together specifically for this video, and isn't available elsewhere.

  • @rlainhart I see.

  • Ruddess took these ideas and improved with his samplewiz and morphwiz.

  • How can you make your iPod's music play while your using Bebot? I love that app, and when I was using it I was like "too bad I can't play some music with this." Can you please tell me, I'm dying to try it! BTW, your video really helped me!

  • @iambored2006 If you have the current iOS, you can just start your iPod playing, then hit the Home button to navigate to Bebot - the music should continue playing in the background while Bebot starts up. Then just start playing in Bebot, and both will play together.

  • @rlainhart Thank you! It works great!

  • @souv try downloading it again, I had the same problem.

    cheers

  • i have bebot, how i can set my bebot ?? i want bebot sound like your song!

  • @souv You should try contacting the developer, but you can usually resolve problems like this if you backup and restore your iPhone (or whatever your device is) through iTunes.

  • Hello is amazing, please can i know the setting up of bebop app that you used in the start music video??? many tks

  • @alexbar76 X2 !!!!

  • This looks really interesting - great video!

Search youtube for "destrOrgan" a fun iphone synth that you can break into pieces!!!

    Peace

  • I like this app and I'm interested in buying it. But I have a big question: Can it record your input? I would like to sit back and watch the Bebot robot sing my songs without having to see my fingers all over the screen.

  • Bebot - the best 2 bucks Jordan ever spent.

  • Sold!

  • How do I get the guitar tracks you had pls send me a message because I really thought u sounded amazing

  • You sold me on this app. My friends at Best Buy always play with this as a funny little gadget - but it sounds wonderful if your in the mood to pluck some synth. I love what you did!

  • is he black? im blind....

  • It looks like an app made for the pipboy 3000

  • whats the first song u played? can u giv me the setting for my bebot ipad...

  • Just downloaded this! its just like my synthesizer in reason but EVEN MORE FUN!!!

  • haha what's up android fans?

  • Why DT does not use jordan´s toys more?

petrucci has to appear in the music ALL THE FUCKING TIME?

  • Wow!

  • i have it, but how do you play it with your own music ?

  • the macgyver of music

  • AWEEEEEEEEEEEESOME!

  • thanks mate..its really helpfull

  • cute apps on iphone and ipad, must HAVE:))

  • The robots application is called Bebot :)

    Check it out

    :D

  • I want it i want it i want it i want it as well as morphwiz

  • That is CRAZY!

  • sound like haaken continuum! cool! XD

  • thanks a lot! i love it

  • yep im getting it officialy lol pretty ciol stuff

  • Does anybody know what key hes playing in in the song in the first minute?

  • 10 people doesnt like new technologies xD

  • Thanks for the tips and the great review.

  • 9:57 Poor robot is going CRAZY!

  • What's the best way to amplify these music apps for live performance?

  • @IversonPlaya3: take a stereo mini out of the headphone jack, and plug it into a stereo full-range keyboard amp or directly into the PA. Bebot and MorphWiz have stereo outputs, and you get a bigger soundstage if you can amplify it in stereo. You could, of course, plug it into a guitar amp, which would be a harsher sound, but that might be just the right thing depending on the context.

  • @IversonPlaya3 - Use an iPad, instead of a dinky iPhone.

  • Jordan Rudess is the musical Moses.

  • are you a dj ?

  • So awesome! I remember that he made a solo with an iphone when i saw dream live, so freaking awesome

  • yay kaoss pad for iphone!!

  • this has been one of my favorite apps, im always doodling with it while working. This guy is the master though!!!

  • does Jordan still use this thing now that he has Morphwiz, his own app? It's kinda like an app competition now, isnt it?

  • I keep my sound as I do?

  • THIS IS SO COOL!!! >:D

  • I guess now this app is better with an iPad

  • Jordan's evocative performance more or less dragged me by my lapels into the app store where I promptly bought it. Then my wife heard it and she got it.

  • Nice!

  • does this app work on a ipod touch cause it only says iphone & ipad & ireally like this app

  • @jackassqwe1 It does work on the iPod Touch.

  • @jackassqwe1 when an app works on iPhone, it also works on iPod touch, I guess =)

  • I recognize this...the fuckin' solo from "A Rite of Passage"!

  • 3:27 sounds like a part from a rite of passage

  • i love the sound of Bebot,,,why cant they have it on Android as well :(

  • 3:27 sounds like In The Mouth Of Madness by Spock's Beard.

  • Bebot vs. Morphwiz: the battle of the ages

  • 3:35, sounds kinda like a rite of passage haha

  • Jordan Rudess..........i want to be the father of your children.

  • How do you get to the play and pause music screen that you have in this video? I can have music going and then open my bebot, but i can't select track or do anything like you did in the video. Please help!

    Thanks!

  • @Jhd0358 If you make the iPod app the Home app (which you can do in the General Settings) that will allow you to switch back and forth directly between Bebot and iPod, which is what Jordan is doing in this video.

  • @rlainhart

    thanks!!!

  • @Jhd0358 Also, without having to setting it to the home screen, you can just double click the home button and slide the mini menu that comes up to the left, where you can control your music (this works in any app). I have the 4th generation though, so I don't know if it works on the other generations.

  • he is amaziiinggg

  • You do fine piano playing man!

  • When Jordan Dies his hands should be preserved in Bronze.

  • @Wiiman895

    When Jordan dies?

For your information, the gods are immortal.

  • quite awesome, thanks... i've been trying to figure out that scale function, and you're playing on bebot is great. until now i only used bebot to freak the cat.

  • thnx for nice torturial ;) keep it up

    peace

  • do they have anything like this for droid apps?

  • Can you use bebot on ipod touch as well ?

i'm getting one tomorrow, and I really want Bebot! aah!

  • Love this!!!

  • You're right it blows my mind, I'm getting a lot of creative juices out of it. Don't forget to use the vertical direction, it gives you incredibly expressive notes.

  • @bobborries This may look like a toy but it isn't. Actually, it's difficult to hit the right notes even using the grid.

  • Respect Jordan! It was a pleasure to hang with you in S America! Jamie C / Bigelf

  • excellent work!

  • was practicing the bebot on iPad.. with the bigger touch pad, the possibilties multiply !!

  • I would just about buy an iphone just to have that app!

  • this is only 1.99$ is really cool. This guy can do some awesome things with it DT rocks!!

  • Genial wn

  • Is this abble just for iphone or also for ipodtouch?

  • @Jblake2527 also on IP touch

  • lol the bass made my whole room shake xD

  • cool! ima buy this!

  • nice app :D

  • two words: fucking sold

  • bebot cool,Rudess FANTASTIC

  • wish i had an iphone now lol

  • Haha I say that to every freaky toy Jordan Rudess plays lol

  • me too! I think it's great!

  • Bebot is amazing, I've been dabbling with it for a month now and have enjoyed hours of cool music and sounds from it :)

  • Damn!! i need the backingtrack!

  • what the name of the app? :)

  • bebot

  • he plays so well... while my friends and i ruins this app LOL

  • His shirt looks a little like the cover of Massive Attack's Mezzanine...

  • This is like a mini continuum... except a half-size continuum costs like 3000$, not to mention the full size one :)

  • I think Jordan doesn't mind people fingering his ipod screen.

  • oh my wow! i've just stumbled across your video here and i immediately have to thank you for this fantastic demo of bebot. i really enjoyed it. i secondly have to thank you for pointing my in the right direction of a GOOD synth app. i've been looking for ages now and hadn't heard of this one.

  • this man can take some used toilet paper and make some beautiful sound out of it.

  • What Setting Does He Have This On.... PLEASE TELL ME.... :(

  • Well its Jordan Rudess so the app will automaticallt default to "awesome".

  • He makes playing on the iPhone look so easy

  • where can one get similiar backing music to play along to with Bebot?? Sounds awesome!

  • This is awesome!

  • You 're A Musical Genius :)

  • Very informative, full review of this app! Thank you! Now if you'll excuse me, I must download bebot to my iPhone immediately!

  • It's a computerized steel guitar? I WANT IT!!!

  • It's a touch-synth for iphone ^^ You can connect different sounds and make your own. A friend to me has it, and I stole his iphone a whole evening for it XDD

  • XD That tells me good things, bro.

  • game

  • This app transformed A Rite of Passage from a great song to an amazing song!!!! Best thing I have bought on iTunes (well except for all of my Dream Theater and Jordan Rudess music ;-)

  • Jordan Rudess slayed with this in Sydney last month

  • apple should pay him for this great advertizing,, now i really want an iphone badly

  • @andrevth hah, u think theyre not paying him? think again my friend

  • @slug182 lol oops i didnt think of that i thought rudess did it out of his own interest

  • @andrevth rudess convinced me to get an iphone.

  • THE GAME BABY!

  • the game?

  • The game

  • I'm sold haha, i gotta get it, it's gonna be fun to jam out in the lobby at my college with it

  • Thank you for this great demo and tutorial. I have been enjoying Bebot for some time now, but I had no idea of full potential it offers. This little app gives you half the functionality of the Kaoscillator at a fraction of the price! The Bebop touch control capability is actually superior to the Kaoscillator.

  • Sweet the pulse sound sounds like that thing Chick Corea used on that record My Spanish Heart!!!

  • 3:36 sounds like the sound they use in was it a Rite of Passage or a Nightmare to Remember, don't you think?

  • well it is

  • he did use it on a rite of passage, starting at about 6:40

  • It's because they DID use this app in A Rite of Passage

  • you won't believe the power of this until you try it yourself...The other day I connected my iPod Touch to a PA system of a karaoke when it was over....the 5.1 speaker system gave it so much power....It actually feels and plays like a full grown synthesizer that would cost 1000x more than Bebot....I am a guitar player and I simply love playing with my Bebot from time to time:)

  • i got this app, best app i have ever bought, and not very expensive!!!! awesome for fast solos!!

  • i suck at this

wish i was as good as u

  • GOTTA GO GET IT!

  • hey i have a few questions about this, first,

do you have to have an iphone to do this or can it be just an itouch? also, how is it amplified? i mean it it some cable that goes to a keyboard amp? if someone could help me out thatd be great

    thanks

  • Bebot works with either the iPhone or the iPod Touch - in fact, Jordan is using the iPod on stage now, just so he doesn't have to tie up his phone.

For amplification, you need a cable with a stereo mini on one end, broken out to whatever type of stereo connection you need on the other end to interface with your amplification system, which could be anything from a a full-blown PA to a keyboard or guitar amp.

  • thanks alot! ill be getting an ipod touch, and this app, soon. haha

  • Its an iPhone application.

And its amplified by a cable going to an amplified...

Or probably Jordan has it connected to the computer or some other stuff. BUt basically its connected to the amplifier.

  • @JordanPetrucci94 yeah it's a simple stereo cable that plugs from your iphone/ ipod to you stereo touch and yes you should be able to download this application on a ipod touch .. =)

    have fun!!

  • He also used this during the Prog Nation Show in Frankfurt last Sunday...

simply amazing! he just blasted my mind there...

  • He played on that when DT was in Oslo in september. It was Lovely, and genious done! I reccomend you to subscribe to his youtube channel, he puts several movies a day about their common life! really cool gang.

  • I'm getting an iPhone tomorrow!!!

  • My brother got this app from iTunes Store on his iPod Touch 3G .

He downloaded that after watching this video by Jordan. It's a good application, but often i set scales because I'm a keyboard player (not as good as Jordan or as any previous Dream Theater keyboardist XD) and my brother is a guitarist.

  • oh god, getting this

  • Hey, I was wondering if you could tell me what settings you have it on to make it sound like it did in the beginning of the video.

  • I don't recall exactly, but I think it's the Theremin preset with the Sine waveform (go into Synth Controls to change the waveform), no Chorus (so no built-in vibrato), and a fairly long echo. The scale is set to a G pentatonic with an added C, I believe.

  • vices flish

  • Saw him using this last night, only with the Rudess Wizard guy - ME WANT!

  • Wow i wanted the iphone but now i really want it thats awsome and you're creativity wilst using this app is amazing.

  • This app is totally boss! Thanks for the update dude.

  • holy fuck I want an I-phone just for this.

Unless it's possible to get a Bebot separately somehow, just so I can spend less money, anyone know a way to get Bebot without having to purchase an I-phone or I-touch?

  • Right now, Bebot is strictly an iPhone/iPod Touch app, because Bebot really depends on the multi-touch capabilities of those devices. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see a version for Apple's new multi-touch tablet when it becomes available.

  • one of the reasons that i bought ipod touch was this app:D

  • you can get a Korg Kaossillator.. has some cool sounds but no one exactly as this and it's only touch and not multitouch. But with some tweaks you can use it as an XY midi controller and control a VST instrument on your pc/mac.

  • @flamingstick get a kaosilator

  • The app is only $1.99

  • this does sound like pink floyd

  • dude, i'd consider getting an iphone simply to be able to use that thing! its awesome for just some iphone application

  • sounds like pink floyd!

  • oh this is the one! I was thinking what thingie he used at the progressive nation gig

  • ya man, but he had that wizard instead of the grey guy

  • Dude, theremins are awesome. I got one hooked up to my keyboard, it's just two antennae which stick out of the right side, that I can just turn a nob to activate, then the spherical magnetic field is disrupted as I play, thus causing a weird effect which seems to match my jamming.

  • What config. is he using for the bit in the beginning there?

  • I purchased it last month and it's a great tool. I am incorporating it into my band. and $1.99!! can't bea tthe price.

  • sounds like something pink floyd would do, minus the iphone of course

  • Saw JR playing it on stage in Helsinki on the 23rd, cool stuff.

  • Yeah, he used it in Oslo aswell. I thought it was a Kaoss Pad or something. Kind of made me go "wtf" when I saw it was an iPhone.

  • I thought it was something else too.
