  • not working in cs4

  • How do I do it with dates?

  • @RitinhaSoaresMoura In number, go to > type, short date or long date

  • and how to make a countdown without 00000001. only 3 --- 2 --- 1 ?

  • why is erectile disfuntion in the suggestions???

  • Thanks for posting that, it really helped :)

  • Do you know how make a score card kind of thing like basically this team has this score and this team has this score and I can change it as the score goes for a video?

  • Cómo lo creo solamente con minutos y segundos??

  • @musicdanny7 Sorry. I don't speak Spanish.

  • @foureyes001 ¿How can make only with minutes and seconds?

  • @musicdanny7 just mask out what you want to exclude.

  • @nojobstv Already tried that. It doesn't work.

  • @foureyes001 it should work, but if it doesn´t, precompose the timer (control+shift+c or command + shift + c if you´re on a mac) and create a mask on the timer.

  • @foureyes001 sorry, create the mask on the precomposition.

  • @foureyes001 he asked how to create a countdown just with minutes and seconds.

  • @musicdanny7 pues usas una mascara o "mask" con la herramienta llamada "pen" y cubres los frames o cuadros por segundos y la horas

  • once the timer was set to timecode it worked :D

  • thanks man you're awesome

  • Good one...!!!

  • How do i create a countdown that are for like 60 days, instead of 5 minutes...??

  • @TheEliasPotter If you made a countdown like that in After Effects it would take days to render. If you want to make something that long, you will need to do it in flash.

  • Why do you add a solid layer ?

  • thanks man this hellped :D

  • time > time-reverse layer would be easier (;

    but thanks a lot

  • thanks man, this helped :)

  • quick couple of questions... first, is using a time reverse layer instead of making a new comp etc okay? and how do you make it only show min:secs? Thank you.

  • this is a good tutorial

  • very good tutorial. Very simple and helpful.

  • Nice concise tutorial although u sound like ur about 15

  • Hey im Havin trouble getting my 3 min timer to work it counts down alright but when it hits 3 it jumps to 2:30 and when it hits 2 it jumps to 1:30 and from 1 min to 0:30 how can i fix this?

  • @zonbato

I have never had that happen to me. Try starting over with a new comp.

  • how do you make it zero on a random place in the composition?

  • err how about what if we want the time to start from 0 from a certian point in a video ?

  • @Greatdictator

Skip the time remaping step, and move the layer down the time line to where you want the time to start.

  • @foureyes001

    thank you

  • very helpfull tutorial 5 star men *

  • Thanks for this! Good tutorial! Very clear and concise. Keep it up! :)

  • thank you for this tutorial. But I don`t understand how to make the time be real. I mean it goes too slowly. And I don`t want so many zeroes. I need only 00 for minutes and 00 for seconds. HELP!

  • @paramoredream

When you render the video, it will be in real time.

  • @paramoredream if u only want 4 digits change to time instead of time code 30

  • Thanks for sharing this with us. For those that are looking for an even easier way to do this using a script, I found this post on the Video CoPilot site that works very well. Worth checking out. I should add that shortcuts are nice, but knowing how to do these things manually helps a great deal in getting you to feel comfortable with the software. :)

  • that was really useful, thank you so much!

  • thanks mate, good tutorial

  • This tutrorial helped a lot! Can you use a regular picture as a background or do you have to have a photoshop image?

  • @ELTIGREROCKS10NEW

Thanks! I am glad you found it useful.

    You can use any image.

  • @foureyes001 Do you know how?

  • @ELTIGREROCKS10NEW

Go to file and then import image.

  • i like this tutorial, especially since it is so concise. the only thing i dont like (and its because of the font type you used) is how the entire number layer moves depending on which numbers are displayed because numbers like "5" take up more space than a "1" so the whole layer looks like it is twitching. how can you fix that?

  • @JesusKID1013

The only thing that I can think of is to chang the font.

  • @JesusKID1013

Unpick the proportional spacing and the twitching will stop

  • @habibjoukhdar1

Never thought about that. I didn't notice the twitching until Jesus Kid 1013 mentioned it. Thx for your input!

  • Good job! Very concise and simple. Only ciritique here is that your watermark gets in the way. Put it more to the corner so it's not take up so much space. The youtube part in the watermark probably isn't necessary.

  • @fwuzzfwuzz

Thanks Kristine. Next time I'll try to put the watermark in the upper corner instead. I think I'll keep the youtube watermark though. I like it! lol

  • Not shabby. The only thing is the audio isn't the best. Good job though.

  • @xHARROWERx

Thx for the honest feedback. I will try to fix that.
