@muddyshamrock Glad you pointed that out. He was indeed born at Meadow Stables. I thought I had also pointed that out on this clip. The narrator "oopsed" on that point. The media "oopses" a lot...especially these days. :)
I DONT THINK RON EVER USED A WHIP ON BIG RED, HE WAS TO BUSY HOLDING ON FOR DEAR LIFE, WHAT A GREAT JOB HE HAD TO RIDE THE TREMENDOUS MACHINE, THANK GOD FOR GIVING US THE BEST RACE HORSES, I KNOW WE ALL HAVE OUR FAVORITES, AND I THANK GOD FOR ALL THE RACE HORSES, WIN, LOSE OR DRAW............................JHS64
I love how Secretariat looks over at Sham in the Belmont as they run stride-for-stride out in front and decides, "THIS AIN'T NO STINKING MATCH RACE!!" Sec turns on the after-burners and the rest is thoroughbred HISTORY.
"And he is moving like a tremendous machine!" those are a few of my favorite words in horse racing, next to "This us Un-be-lievable!" When Zenyatta wond the Breeder's Cup Classic. such an exciting sport :)
It was a privilege to watch Secretariat annihilate the competition during the 1973 Triple Crown. Even though I was 6- years-old at the time, I'll never forget watching "My Horsie", as I called him, race so brilliantly.
Wow, thank you so much for your kind words. It has been a pleasure for me to share these and interact with nice people such as yourself.
I'm very happy that people have found joy from viewing the videos; it makes this all worthwhile. I can't possibly reply to everyone, so let it be said here that I am thankful for all the nice comments - from everyone.
Thank you cf for taking the time to enhance this video to digital quality. It looks so much better than the previous version from a couple years ago & does Big Red justice. He was a gorgeous horse & his legend lives on.
Too bad he wasn't foaled at Claiborne Farm!.... Try Meadow Stables in Doswell, VA.

the preakness move tells me he wants to do what he feels like doing and ronnie turcot knows its pointless getting in the way.
