I'm with you daverbecks. I played the first movement of this concerto for my college auditions last year, and it is far and away one of my favorite pieces(the whole concerto) Not only am I amazed that many of the super pros don't seem to play it, or that it's not programmed much by the major orchestras who want soloists to appear with them. I was sure I'd find the whole thing on youtube, but I still haven't. Next time I play it, the whole thing or part of it, it's going up I promise
A brilliant performance! Thank you so much for posting! This is exactly how this concerto should be played; inspired and forceful, without any artificial sentimentality. I wish I'll hear it live someday. Or, even more, find the complete concerto on YouTube someday!!! There is no DVD recording of any of Khachaturian concertos, so that would mean the world to devoted Khachaturian fans like myself.
There are now some decent recordings of the first movement up, one in particular is by a young man playing on a violin that was constructed by his father (and it sounds incredible) He is a very fine violinist and does the work great justice. Check it out if you haven't already
Hej, druzhe Bokor! Great performance. Tell the conductor next time to bring the orchestra down a little :) Vidimo-se

It is amazing how Bokor can move his fingers. I am no where near that fast but... I am only in ninth grade.
