LOVE THIS TUNE!! I too got to see Bob Spalding play BLUE DAWN w/ The VeNtuReS a few times. The first time was in Del Mar, California in 2006!! Believe it or not, it brought tears to my eyes!! Brings back great memories of my dad who passed away in 2005. He was also a VeNtuReS nut like myself. When we bought the "STARS ON GUITARS" album that had this tune on it, we would listen to it over and over and over again. Like I said, it brings back great memories of my childhood. Im 33. Thanks!!
I was at this concert and they sound just like their records in person. Amazing for their age and timeless in their music. Plus they are overall nice people who will talk to their fans after the concert and just mingle with everyone. Anyone who gets a chance should go see them for a great show and hear what music in their era was all about first hand. Amazing!

They started out about 50! years ago, didn't they? Cool!! I can honestly say I am fond of the Ventures. Each one of them, except Mr. Taylor of course, could be my grandfather (I was born in 1974), but a handsome couple of sturdy geezers they are. And I have seen a documentary on Walk Don't Run, which gave me the impression they are rarely out of control, in other words: They never seem to let others drive'em crazy. A very healthy attitude guys ;-)
Very good piece of work. The music is new to me, we do not have new releases from the Ventures in the Far East but if we are lucky we come across some of their old albums in the racks. Thx
Maybe not in Malaysia where samhof is from, but when I was in Singapore the Virgin store was well stocked with Ventures. And Japan IS the only country where new Ventures albums come out - the US only gets them as imports or domestic reissues! Their new single of "Gonna Fly Now" sold 50,000 downloads in Japan, but is not available in the US.
@emerpus01 The Ventures had become part of japanese culture.They enjoy huge following there.Almost everybody know them.No other foreign music groups aver achieved the cult status
I was at BB KINGS that night with my son.It was a great experience to see them live,altought sometimes they sounded a bit off we enjoyed the gig especially the singing of Don Wilson.
Wasn't this song was written by Dave Kalmbach, from Dave and the shadows, on Fenton records?

@synonomous998
No that was a different tune. I had the original but lost it. Sure wish I had it back.
Amazing you even know about Dave and The Shadows.

I thought that the opposite is true that all the albums are available in the Far East. Maybe I'm wrong in that assumption.

oh I am not aware of the new single "Gonna Fly Now"
who is on lead for this one? hopefully Nokie as he definitely is the man. Isn't it amazing that these super heros are still ringing out new singles!
