Watching this 5 years on reminds me of just how good Strictly used to be, and how good Mark and Karen were. The choreography wasn't anything special, but he rarely ever went wrong, and they had such chemistry together.

Much preferred the old smaller studio set as well with the smaller floor and audience closer to the dancing which made it all much more intimate.

The show became a victim of its success soon after, and it lost everything that made it popular.

Best series of Strictly EVER! Mark & Karen truly deserved to win that title and Mark was a true celebrity and Karen was an awesome teacherwho got the best out of him!

Still get emotional when I see it now. SCD is not the same without Karen Hardy. This win, together with Tom & Camilla last year were the best in all series.

The new series of Strictly is good, but Karen is greatly missed . For me, Karen epitomises Strictly Come Dancing, it's just not as good without her.

Sometimes celebrity tv CAN emote something else other than shamless ego. Mark's history prior to SCD will be remembered by the frustration of such a talented man being held back by his own lack of real belief in who he was and what he could have acheived as a Test cricketer. His time on SCD one of the great transformations. A story of soul searching, courage, passion and love. The only celeb to use dance as a true expression of his inner feelings, a mirror. I have to agree. They were the best couple ever. Not only their dancing. Mark's good looks and modesty, fabulous Karen, their wonderful partnership and some their dancing took my breath away.
