  • im tryign to run a minecraft multi server for my friends and i need to keep my exsteral ip the same how do the others do this?

  • @pringle0123 Go to DYN dns

Get a free account and set up a free domain.

now you can point the domain at your home.

Ok thats not the cool part

The cool part is you download and set up the DYN dns updater

Do that and your domain will update when you IP changes.

    Hope that helps

    Pay it forward

  • hm, this shut off my internet. .-.

  • @ferrariboy99 ------THIS IS FOR EVERYONE------

If you do not set your dns server to 8.8.8.8 this will not work!

    There is an annotation.

I made this video when i only needed the LAN.

To get WAN assess you need to set the DNS server

  • I need my Static IP Address. Not how to set it up.

  • hey im an admin on css but my etherner has some rare days in wich it constatly goes down and when it turns back on my ip adress is different so im not an admin anymore and i have to add my new ip adress to the admins list and i have to do this everytime my ehternet goes down.. i use a rooter btw.. so if someone can tell me how i get a fix ip like one who doesent change each time my ethernet goes down, it would be much appreciated :)

  • my connection doesnt show up its my cousing connection only

  • i have a laptop is wireless network connections ok

  • Rofl... dont follow this, you cant access internet because this guy knows nothing.

  • Mine Works But It Disconnects me From internet ................

  • @MinecraftHelp2011 Thats because you need to set your DNS server

    Just set it to google's

    8.8.8.8

    and

    8.8.4.4

  • thx so FUCKIN much im glad u were born =]

  • Isn't this only the internal ip address ?

Will it keep the external ip also same ?

  • @bonneyjohn No this is the local IP

So the IP on your local network.

Its impossible in most cases to get your external IP to stay the same so most people run an updater that updates a domain name to what ever your public IP is.

    I suggest dyndns.com

  • Basically if you have a home network like I do, with multiple computers running off of 1 broadband connection this is perfect. not for more hardcore servers that will see a lot of traffic but, this would allow you to set up a machine to become lets say --a small private games server-- for you and your mates without having to re-port forward every time your router/modem switches your lan IPV4. not really for commercial use yeh, but perfect for home networks- great vid- STOP FLAMING HIM!

  • LMAO, this is your internal network IP address....dont expect it to do much outside your network, you wont even be able to get onto the internet.

  • Thanx for the video, but when I type ipconfig I get the ip 10.0.0.4 and default gate way as 10.0.0.2 is that not My lan ip Adress, Please help, Thanx, I'm trying to host a website from Home using Iis

  • @ChadDeLange That would meen you are are using a class B network i don't know why you would have it set up like that but yes that is your local Or lan Ip address

  • @idrizzify11 yes

(but this is your local ip within your network

not the one the internet see's)

  • It doesnt work for me it just does not let me load any web pages

  • @speedey94

are you sure you set the default bate way properly?

most of the time its 192.168.1.1 but for a d-link and some other brands its 192.168.0.1

  • @speedey94 your default gateway is what your routers ip address is...

  • err i dont get it, i need it to tell me the static ip address. when i do this it just makes an static ip address which i dont know, how can i found out what it is?

  • @Pride1234ify

well by default your addresses is going to be dynamic not static but if you want to know what your local ip address static or dynamic watch this other video i made called "What is my LOCAL IP address?"

Just so you know local means the ip address within your home or office network not what the rest of the world see's so find you external ip address just do a Google search for what is my ip.
