  • karna's charioteer was 'salya' but not 'sanjaya' perhaps swamiji has misspelt the name.Any way this is a unique interpretation of Mahabharata

  • im a muslim but wht i learn a lot from this gantleman .may god bless him i think he alredy blessed him with enlightment ....

  • Pranam Swamji,

Whatever you said about the initiation, i being through the same experience lately. I'm being reading quite a lots of books and lately when i came through your discourse i learn so much. I understand whatever you are talking Swamji. I swallowed quite alot. Please help me Swamiji!!!!

    What should I do?

  • Has a very poor knowledge of Mahabharata. Sanajaya was not Karna's charioteer. It was Shalya. Also Draupadi did not apply Duryodhana's blood to her hair; it was Dussasana's blood.

His analogies are very stupid as well.

  • If you consider small details such as these to be paramount, you certainly have a lot to learn.

  • You mean to say you can twist the story a bit, thrust upon Sanjaya as a charioteer of Karna and draw some inferences from their (non-existing) relationship during the war?

I am saddend to know that Veda Vyasa's beautiful story (or itihaasa) has been conveniently retold/twisted to present such interesting "insights".

I certainly have a lot to learn, but so does the Swamiji (no offence meant).

  • Well, I do agree that Nithyananda did get some of the 'facts' of the Mahabharatha 'wrong' but then again, this is not a speech on the actual events; it's more on what they signify according to him. My earlier statement was to suggest to look beyond "petty" details and in this case they certainly are.

  • Go beyond the story line.

And only people who are sincerely struggling with enlightenment or spiritual seekers would be able to understand his analogies. Seems as if you missed the whole thing ...

  • Its a fact Mahabharatha is not real. So I think its just fair its subject to interpretation. Its great to hear another interpretatioon and i does appeal to me a lot at a practical level. Great Job.

  • perhaps he simply misspoke?

  • He also says Krishna when he means Arjuna on another video. He knows the difference.... Man, you're blessed to be living in India, maybe you should go tell Swami Nithyananda your lofty opinions in person.

  • It takes a lot of mind power with the help of the divine to reach the higher intelligence, above all ignorance and darkness. The heart will remain in the mode of passion.

  • thank you

  • Namaste Swamiji,

    Please explain who is Ashwathama?

Why does Drona drop upon hearing the news of Ashwathama?

Very good insights ..... well explained.

    Thank You.

  • do not swallow unenlightent knowledge fight u start compassion brother of natures elder brother

  • My question is,if there are people that can teleport, that can make their body hard as steel, that can generate psychic attacks, aren't they more intelligent and advanced than others? Is there some short of alignment they have with existence and a balance of their strengths? Can these powers be unstable to others?threaten them on a psychological level and trap them to dimensions and if so,is this a karmic balance that happens and therefore not state of enlightment?

  • Simply fantabulous.Such a beautiful version of the great epic. And the compassion in which he talks. You Tube is like SAHADEVA to me now giving all the right tips i needed as swamiji says.I have a doubt regarding "Kapi Dwajam" is it really hanuman on top of the chariot or is it just a flag with the picture of a monkey which represents the wavering mind? Can you please answer.

Once again thanks for the beautiful speech.

  • Hi its me again, forgive me for comparing masters, but I say this with good reason, because Prabhupada's trnalations were blatantly not accurate, but with Nithyananda it is more credible. I do understand what you are saying though : }

  • Very interesting. One mistake however - Karna's charioteer was not Sanjaya. It was Shalya. (Don't know if Shalya means spontaneity) Sanjaya was the one narrating the war as it was happening to Dhritarashtra through his yogic vision.

  • After the 1st video about insights into the Mahabharata, I was eagerly waiting for perhaps more amazing insights into this old story, which I liked, but never understood the deeper meaning of. Thank you for this precious video!

  • Thank you for the response. It was useful, Although one thing to add, if enlightenment is beyond siddas, yogic powers would be present in the state of enlightenment. If yogic powers were not present in enlightenment, it would demonstrate some form of ignorance/inability below yogic powers. I am struggling to see how any form of ignorance/inability can be present in the highest state of enlightenment. How to solve this problem?

  • Enlightenment is an expression of existence. As devotion demands, divinity descends. Siddas are expressed when required as we mentioned before. For emphasis, we can only repeat the earlier statement.

  • Also, siddhas have been used, albeit sparsely, by certain masters even in the 20th Century such as Ramana Maharishi. He, affirming what the Vedas state, strongly urges people to avoid being tempted by the siddhas and recommends not using them as they drag one down from attainig the goal of 'consolidated enlightenment'.

  • I cannot see Swamiji at this time but I would ask this question. The ability to manifest gold or walk on water while I do not care for the superficial effect by itself and do not need it. Can you not directly measure enlightenment in regards to these abilities. Should anyone be called enlightened if they cannot do these things. If one cannot do these things how can one say they have reached the ultimate when infinite potential is not present to manifest those abilities. That is all thank you.

  • What you are referring to are called the yogic powers. The yogic powers or the siddas are attainable by anybody who has gone through certain rigorous kriyas. This ability of expressing the /siddas is neither necessary nor sufficient condition to determine enlightenment. Enlightened state is beyond siddas.

Siddas are sometimes needed to help some devotees but mostly diversions from the essence of spiritual training, helping the devotees to attain the enlightenment.

  • Wasn't Shalya the driver for Karna??? Sanjaya was narrating the story to Dhritarashtra !

  • In fact, I would go further and state that siddhas are distractions and temptations that should be avoided in order to consolidate that expanded state of consciousness (enlightenment). By manifesting those powers, one gives the chance and opportunity for the mind (manas) and ego (ahamkara) to resurface or strengthen which can be dangerous and detrimental.

  • Well said!

  • The sheer brilliance and dyanamic expression with which Swamiji expresses His teachings keeps them ever new, ever fresh, sparkling with clarity and divine energy. He first captured my heart, now He has captured my consciousness.

  • you always manage to explain more and more to me. Thank you Swamiji

  • Thank you for share!!!

    Vero :)

  • I am addicted to this Swami. Compare this Swami to Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhpada, and you will see nithyananda is more credible. No offence.

  • Dear Devotee:

Every Master expresses his/her own experience in their own unique way. Please let us not compare one master against other. Hope you understand.
