@pakruy Please spell correctly (in English, not the American version of English- Programme.) The UK don't do multi role- that is why we got the F35. The EF is a better Air Sup plane but the Rafale is a better all rounder as we don't like multi role Air Sup- this is evident in the Royal Navy= different ships for different roles. The F35 is going to be used mainly as an attack plane but it can also double up as a fighter!!

@pakruy Britain is known to have the best engineers in the world. Look at the Type 45 and Type 26, Astute Class, QE Class, Vanguard Replacement, EF Typhoon etc. I agree that France is better than Italian, German and Spanish engineering but it is nowhere near as good as British tech.

Denmark will buy the yank F-35's since we have already transfered billions of dollars to Lockheed Martin paying part of the development budget for that particular aircraft. @pakruy Britain is known to have the best engineers in the world. Look at the Type 45 and Type 26, Astute Class, QE Class, Vanguard Replacement, EF Typhoon etc. I agree that France is better than Italian, German and Spanish engineering but it is nowhere near as good as British tech.

@algi1948 British tech is the best in the world, along with the US. Our products are reliable, are hugely advanced; compared to all tech (the US is equally as good.) The Charles De Gaulle is not reliable at all- she breaks down all of the time.

We have been carrying on... yes, and roundabouts are used very extensively here. But we enter them turning to the right...(some other countries do it to the left. Should I say in the wrong direction? hehe)

@MrXray2011 Oh yes,the nuclear carrier CDG was an embarrassment for the French navy as they screwed this up from the beginning , she had been plagued with technical problems since it was launched ,excessive noise,chemical leaks,massive delays, extended flight deck length so it could operate its aircraft, propeller falling off,drive system fatigue,uncontrolled vibrations, you name it ,she cost French taxpayers more than a Nimitz class to US tax payers which is twice the size and capability..

you are most probably referring to general industrial products about which I can't make a comment. Germans are making better industrial machines than anybody else of course but we are talking about defence products here. RR jet engines are not that bad you should try one ! BAE Systems products are US Ministry of Defence approved which is a benchmark for the rest of the world.

One of the only sane nations has gone to the dogs, and this is real pity. Because who else is left? RR engines are gr8, of course, but German machines are best. They also give you service after the warranty is over...

In 4-5 years time Denmark is going to replace their old school F-16s. The SAAB JAS-39NG, Boeing F-18E/F, F-35 are in the contest. But now also the Typhoon is in the game:0) I hope we choose the Typhoon although the Swedes will hate ud for that!

@Badger071 Those platforms are not in any sort of real "contest"! Denmark will buy the yank F-35's since we have already transfered billions of dollars to Lockheed Martin paying part of the development budget for that particular aircraft. Anyways the F-18 would be a stupid buy since it's not really 5th Gen. The fake "contest" was/is between the F-35, the Eurofighter and the SAAB, as you mentioned. Not the F-18. IMHO we should go for the Swedish model and save billions on maint.

@AvoinTarina We did actually have the F-18E Super Hornet here in Denmark to show off. It WAS in the contest..and I still thought it was. But the F-18 airframe is an old design going back to the 70s. Yeah..maybe we will buy the Gripen. It´s all about the money in the end.
