I think it's a pick-string stroke... In that times Dave use to play with tortex picks... and that pick makes the guitar sound very very sensible. Any strike on the string (even the minimun) sounds very loud. Just listen the solo... Sounds really like a fuckin' KNIFE!

I do it myself sometimes, but I don't pay attention when I do. I'm pretty sure it happens when you press down on one of the strings where they go over the pickups and it hits one of the pickups.
