  • This was a very informative video. I've never thought of using more than one shade of foundation, or powder. I always noticed my skin had different shades, but it never 'clicked' to use more than one colour. This gives me something to try out.

  • Easy to find a foundation for your color if you live in america, but if you live in norway (like me) or other countries in europe ( beside england ) it's damn hard!!

  • I found the best concealer for women of color. I used to use a peach color corrector, that barely worked. Now, I use NYX's color concealer in Orange. Since WOC often have dark marks that are greenish blue, orange works perfectly.

  • @12quillemall5321 I agree! I am also using an orange color corrector and it works brilliantly!

  • With using so many shades, is it difficult to touch up during the day (taking your colors with you), or do you?

  • Hello and thanks for your post. I struggle so much with using the right foundation for flash photos - always have a ghost appearance or the makeup fades out altogether (too much or too little). So, how can I determine if a foundation will create the ghost effect...is it about SPF only? Hoping this question makes sense.

  • very well explained and loved the way you explained all the problems us colored people face when coming to choose foundations! Great vid :-)

  • thanx so much, can you send me a list all the products you used pleez. just subbed, you are great!!!!

  • Excellent job!

  • Honestly the best Foundation-how-to for darker skin on Youtube. Thank you!

  • @hyperrmusicc I agree!

  • I'm looking for some professional foundation color wheels. Which do u use? BTW I love your channel. Your makeup is always flawless. Your techniques for foundation have been very helpful.

  • Thanks

  • I love the way you apply your dermablend. I use it as well, been using it for 15years. But you do a great job with the applications. I also noticed you use more than one color. I will purchase another color, because I noticed I have two-tone color on my skin. Again Great! Great! job.

  • omg I never in a million years would have thought to use diffrent shades for foundation. I hate wearing foundation because it always make me look 1 shade and it looks a little fake or like I'm wearing foundation.

Thank you so much for this tutorial, you are a life saver. Your make up really look flawless and natural.

  • @foreverprofit revlon colorstay looks 95% natural and it doesnt have any harmful ingrediants and it brings out ur skin tone. to pick the right foundation loreal true match has many more shades. revlon photoready doesnt stay as long but it also has more collections of colors :) hope this helps a little

  • You've had the vid thus far for darker skin tones! thank you...question, i have a couple of dark spots and craters here and there, do you have a vid for that or can i use the same process...i know the make up won't make my skin flawless per se but it'll lessen the severity of the scars

  • Hey there, you can use the same process. Just choose a color that will neautralize the dark spots.

  • I think I need dermablend in my life lol... I can NEVER find the correct color for me (tired MAC NW45, 47, and 50 and each is a little off) this video gives me hope lol

  • OMG TY! I wasnt sure if black woman could or should use the color correcting concealers. I was at a lost on that one! thanks!

  • Jane B -- I use a lavender full coverage concealer from Mary Kay and it is amazing! I have a medium brown skin tone (combination type).

  • Thanks for the tip, I will try the lavender concealer as well.

  • i use dermablend foundation as well but I having a hard time making it set, i do not use setting powder I use mineralize skinifinish. It also is supposed to last 12 hours but it doesnt. Am I moisturizing my face too much?

  • Watch the moisturizer, only use it if you need to think the product out a bit. Also use loose powder and press it into the skin like i do in the video. Hope this helps!

  • Jane I love it. You know that I am a number one fan. LOL

  • Different... I've never seen contouring done this way. You blend very well.

  • I cant seem to find the dermablend in darker colours, at least not where ive looked in toronto. im wondering if you would use the darker colour as a contour?

  • You can definately use the dark colors as a contour. Try the dermablend website, they have the darker colors.

  • This is one of the best foundation application tut's on YouTube!

  • Once again, another very impressive video. I really enjoy learning from you. :)

  • That looks very flawess, Can you do one with just airbrush?
