  • Beaucoup de tristesse, lorsque j'étais au Conservartoire de Nice,à tous c'était notre idole.

Ce son, fruité,cette fluidité alors que l'instrument est si difficile,sa gentillesse,sa simplicité

    m'a marqué a jamais.Pierre

  • He played so wonderful...

So sorry that the life on Earth is too short but his music is going on to live...

  • Rest in peace

  • Which key is his trumpet?

  • @ChristianFire7 Trumpet is Eb, Most likely by Schilke.

  • his tone is absolutely incromprehensible

  • 2:30 = beast

  • Alison Balsam eat your heart out !

Maurice Andre is the greatest ever trumpet virtuoso.

  • Wow they take this fast. Superb job.

  • Where was this performance? Orchestra. . . conductor? Maurice's tone is pure Gold!

  • un peut rapide a mon gout , mais il est terriblement bon

  • Il est le meilleur !

  • I have a great recording Wynton playing the same piece and I'm pleased to say I'm liking Maurice's playing style more.

  • Very Nice, i love this instrument' ..

    Trumpet my style of life..

  • muy bueno! Pero Sergei Nakariakov lo superò!!! :D

  • lol the whole orchestra couldnt keep up with him

  • He is The Best Classical Player of ALL TIME!!!

  • Well.. Wow .. Double tounging.. Very agile fingers.. Wow

  • little to fast?

  • Wasn't it MA who said that if he ever messed up at a concert he would refund everybody's tickets?

  • I bet the one person who doesn't like this is the asshole who thinks playing trumpet means to be loud and always be heard, and that you always have the main part.

  • His articulation is sooo beautiful. It's what makes it sound crisp and clean compared to others who play it.......not that they play it bad or anything like that.

  • wow no comment

  • i simply love his vibrato

  • i wanna know what valve oil he uses

  • @chwarze dose, are you fucking kidding? Thius is the very best trumpet player that ever lived. I think YOU are not very musically if you cannot admire him, for this music.

    p.s. look at the audience

  • too fast. not very musicaly.

  • @SchwarzeDose21 Even though Maurice André was the greatest trumpet player of the 20th century, he never behaved like the typical "star". To be able to reach more people, he accepted gigs with mediocre orchestras and even more mediocre conductors... always deferring to the conductor's wishes and ideas. That led him into trouble more than once. I remember a concert of his iwhere the organist started off at racing speed, and accelerated until MA just could not follow any more....

  • Most other soloists would have stopped and restarted. Not MA. he fought to the end, smiled, and commented to the audience that he was sorry that at his advanced age he was not a speed merchant anymore...

  • That very same concert was an awful mess for MA: His trumpet case had been stolen the night before, and the only thing he had been able to borrow locally was a Scherzer piccolo. First time he ever played on a rotary picc., with an unfamiliar mouthpiece, a substitute organist who had arrived late so no previous rehearsal... just a matter of "Let's go!". Together, they made an awful hash of things. MA insisted on the tickets being refunded, and as it was a charity gig, paid for that himself...

  • Love this. It's not about how well Andre plays, but, seriously, how he plays it! It's not about the silver horn, or the gold plated mouthpiece; it's just like all of us want to be, amazing control, no arrogance, no desire to play higher, just an all round sound. This is trumpet playing.

  • he plays with eyes closed... only god knows what he has in head while playing this !

  • @dom43G Open Your eyes O.o....He haven't eyes close

  • @BarlettanoPro Oh yeah ! looks like he has em' closed... he would be able to play it with them closed LOL

    thanks for telling me !

  • Maurice Andre's ability was astonishing.. one of a kind....but he's not at pretty as Tine Thing Helseth. lol

  • Oh god, Makes it look so childish to play... i ''cried'' while watching that vid ! so great !

  • WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO FAST D:

  • @SKiPPY3553 ...Because he can play it this fast?

  • @SpeedyNeutrino43 most recordings are this tempo..

  • if you compare wynton to him then you are trully very stupid!!!!!! theres a video where wynton plays this movement as a child. i would like to see maurice do that when he was that age. im sure when wynton is his age he'll be 10000000 times better then him.

  • @clinnyp fat chance not ever

  • @clinnyp

Comparing these two trumpet players is truly very stupid. They are different players and cannot be compared as such. Different players have different influences, ideas, and goals. Once you get to this level its no longer about being better, it's about being who you are as a musician. I personally prefer Maurice's sound over Wynton's, but I would never choose one over the other as a better player. Being better for amateurs; the pros just be themselves.

  • @clinnyp There is an old saying that many attribute to Abraham Lincoln that you might want to remember...." 'Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."
