As a trumpet player way back in the day, this song is still orgasmic if you'll pardon the expression. I love this album, well the first side anyway. I spent so many of my teen nights in the 70's up late at night with headphones on listening to Chase, Ferguson, and Herb Alpert. Thanks for posting!! My volume is cranked still!!!! If it's too loud, YOU'RE TOO DAMN OLD!!!!!
@AntonHu Hey, thanks for that info!! I was so sure it was Chase. It definitely sounds like him but I appreciate knowing who it really was!!! This is still my favorite song on that album. I have it all on my ipod and it is so good to be able to listen to the same music I did when I was a teenager!!
@survivrs Yes, my favourite track too. It struck me at the time as odd that my favourite should feature someone other than the lead vocalist on vocals.
But Trumpetman369's idea is good - Clayton-Thomas would have sounded great on this number.
@AntonHu I agree-he would have sounded great. So are you a trumpet player? And like the Marines, there is no such thing as an ex-trumpeter!! We just don't practice for long periods when we get older, just like when we were kids. But I almost made all-state my junior year. I got recalled and choked. Out of 72, they recalled 12 and took 9. So f**king close to my dream and I choked on a piece that I should have gotten through. My Sr year I just didn't even care. That sucks!
@AntonHu You are correct, Sir. That is Teddy singing on the first album. Terry Richards was the lead singer on the first record. Mr. GG Shinn on the second. Teddy was a great singer in his own right.
@Jerry96587 One that you can't play, apparently. Maybe you should stay w/the clarinet, or tonette? Something that can be played and not heard in a sound proof room, like your stupid fucking remarks

I remember this band. I have an album called THE BEST OF CHASE that had this song and all the other good tunes on it. The album showed the band dressed up in 1960's and 1970's clothing.
Bill Chase indeed was an outstanding band leader and trumpet player. He will certainly be missed
we played this i think it was last year in my high school band =] my uncle just came over today and gave me a cd named chase and i was listening to it in my room and this song came on and i was like wait a minute this sounds familiar...lol they have other good songs too.
Sorry if I offend, but Rod Stewart's version blows compared to this!

It's that David Clayton-Thomas singing? The lead singer from Blood Sweat and Tears? It sounds a lot like him.
