  • Aaahhhhhh..... One of my favorite drinks....

  • "Kids are weird sometimes" ahhah oh gosh Hildah that made me bust up laughing. Great Video :)

  • I love, love, love this! I like to add a little extra cayenne pepper because the spicy/tingly feeling you get in your throat is just amazing! Thanks, Hilah! <3

  • @madz4evar786 Yes, that's the best part! :)

  • very nice!

  • @wondergrove Thanks! It is so good!

  • Hmm... I think she was trying to make Champurado? I could be wrong... but I've never seen my mother make Hot chocolate that way. Hmm... I shall have to ask my mum... This seems pretty interesting to make.

  • @Maylett91 Nope I take that back... she was trying to do the chocolate you can buy at a Mexican store (Or walmart) called "Chocolate Abuelita" but homemade style! Props to her, but she should have dropped some cinnamon into the pot... or else it just taste to much like regular hot chocolate, but hey it's still good!

    Awesome recipe!

  • @Maylett91 Yes, homemade Abuelita, exactly. I did use cinnamon, though - maybe you missed it?

  • My son Jonas drinks a hot chocolate (two cups) every moring before he goes to school.

We are fans of hot. At our last US vacation, that took us to Denver for railfanning, we purchased four bottles of "Franks Hot Sauce". Its a really cool sauce, we use it for many things, also for Baked Beans!!! If you crack the Heinz recepie you will be our hero!!!

But I think your chocolate is just too hot for school days. Regards, Markus

  • @JoMaVEX I love Franks! And baked beans! I used to add minced garlic to my baked beans when I stayed in London. Yum! I'll see what I can do for you. :)

  • Yummeh! This reminds me of the time I made chocolatey cupcakes with cinnamon, cayenne and serrano chili peppers. Hotness, and hawtness! =)

  • Hi,

i once tasted a similar cold version of this, called "native american love drink" with a little cayenne in it....

but this hot spiced version is just right for the season right now as the winter decides to finally hit europe...brrrr

and with all the "heat" in it, maybe hubby and wifey will get some different ideas besides sitting around and watching TV... ;-P

    Joe from Germany :-))

  • Chocolate, chili hot chocolate! I just had a bevgasm (beverage orgasm.)

  • @meggiemeg86 Bahaha! :)

  • @coeurdechoeur Then you are in for a treat!

  • I made hot chocolate before using ganache as a base. It was super delicious.

  • you rock!

  • "Kids are weird sometimes" lol i love you and it looks good i love hot chocolate :)

  • @NathalyAlfaro Thanks! Me too!

  • I hate cinnamon !! Gotta leave it out !!

  • @Aleksandar998 That's cool, it's still good without it!

  • @hilahcooking Yep. It was great !!! Cayenne pepper gives it just enough heat and it was great !!

  • @Aleksandar998 Wonderful! :)

  • Have to try this sometimes. I've never even thought of making hot chocolate by melting solid chocolate.

  • @JaySummer1 To me it is much richer with solid chocolate. Very decadent. You could still substitute cocoa powder, though!

  • wow that hot stuff like you wink

  • Hot chocolate is good in any form. Always loved it just a bit more with some whipped cream on top! Marshmallows play a close second to the whipped cream.

  • @gtjhu Ooh, yeah!

  • @MikisPantry Hi Miki! These would go great with your peppermint chocolate cookies!

  • @hilahcooking I agree! :]

  • I'm all out of Mexicans.....can I use Cubans instead?

  • One time at the airport, I was stopped and searched at security because I had blocks of Abuelita in my backpack. lol.

  • @MrJingjong Ha! What did they think it was? Choco-heroin?

  • I always wanted to try this!

Side Note: where did you get that winter filter, I have been seeing it everywhere, but u know I use iMovie so I have no hope

  • @TheSweetestVegan It's called a lens flare filter, but yeah, I'm not sure if imovie has it. Seemed like it has a lot of different filters, but you know I can't figure it out!

  • @TheSweetestVegan It's called "Random Bokeh" in FCPX. I think it's probably already been overused but I couldn't resist it.

  • YOUR SO FUNNI!

  • @tikilolu :)

  • I am sending my letter of praise and thanks for your recipe. I just made some hot chocolate at church last night from a can and I know this would have been much better,I made it for the children and they would not have known the difference, all they wanted was the mini marsh mellows.

    God Bless,

    Elba

  • @elbacooks4u Haha! That is true. Kids love the mini marshmallows. I know I did.
