  • you're insane. that is not how to use thermal paste. by any standards...

  • Absolutely not the way you apply thermal paste.

  • 5:34 WAT

  • i nearly fell off m chair when u aplied the thermal compound!!! all u needs a tiny little spot of it, and i find it spreads under pressure from the cooler anyways. i recomend arctic silver ceramique as its garuanteed non-conductive and therefore safer for beginners. and last but not least, wouldnt it be bettter to mount the cpu cooler in a north south configuration? (exhausting to the top of the chassis) as that would take better advantage of thermal convection

  • How much is this pc in GBP and can it run games like Crysis 2 on max settings 60fps+ ?

  • @jordannw2010 About £575

  • @AribterRyan any idea how good it is?

  • @jordannw2010 In my opinion fucking amazing want me to send you a message with the specs?

  • @AribterRyan did you build this exact pc then?

  • @jordannw2010 No I wanted to make mine quieter though so I used there sound blocking pads :). I've sent you the specs of mine you could make it even better if you have the money :)

  • @jordannw2010 It's great mate if you want I'll message you a spec list

  • @AribterRyan ok

  • If you are building a "quiet" PC SSD's are the way to go. I ran HD Tune on my SSD and HDD and you don't realise how loud HDD's are till you hear them side by side.

  • @lewisner This video is a great refrence for building a quiet PC also this video is approx almost two years old so SSD's were very expemsive. Remember also the case is soundproofed so that will muffle any noise coming from the components insde including HDD. I do agree with you SSD is great because they are silent you can still hear them seek a bit but for the most part silent. I would like to note that Segate drives specialy these are extremely quiet! SSD's are way less expensive now

  • @acousticpc But for storgae it is very pricy still it is beat to use a quiet HDD for storage and SSD's for the operating sysem and programs. for silence and performance. The Green series Seagate drives we use only turn on when you access them. But again they can not be heard from inside the case and we do also provide hard drive enclosures in our online store that completely dampen the sound.

  • @acousticpc Yes I guessed that it was quite old! SSD's are hugely expensive now but the benefits are equally huge. Hopefully in a year or two they'll come down to a more affordable price.

  • @lewisner They have come down quite abit but not enough for massive storage. However you can get dual 60gb ssd's even sata III for approx $109.00 or 120gb for approx $230-240.00. Personaly i prefer dual 60gb that is enough for operating system and programs etc... and set it up on raid 0 and your system will fly :) And then for storage you can use 1-2 even 3 TB Quiet Seagte drive. I just read a review on Hot Hardware they compared Hitachi, Wester Digital and Seagtae & the Seagte performed #1

  • @lewisner As far as performance SATA III SSD, the best is the Patriot Pyro and OCZ, Kingston HypeX is right there... Basically anything with a sanforce controller. However Only Patriot and OCZ offer a 60gb size... The Kingston Hyper X starts at 120GB

  • @lewisner I would def/ recommend 4 U SSD for performance to run your programs and a Seagte for storage using a Hard Drive enclosure to dampen the sound! it will be inaudible...

  • @acousticpc I got an OCZ Vertex 3 240GB a few weeks ago and it runs like a dream. Everything is faster, even FPS are improved.

  • people don't spread the compound especially with your finger. the finger has oil form your skin on it, the imperfect surface on the compound after doing that will trap air also. both can be bad for transferring heat. it doesn't sound like much but it will make a difference. you can just dab it in the center and let the heat sink spread it. it worked better for myself than doing his method.

  • thanks for posting this

  • @bonn1771 Thank you for your support. Sincearly!

  • Hey, that hdd mount, did it came with your case? Whats it called and where can you get one? Thanks!

  • @idiotgo We do not carry that particular product any more, it has been discontinued. However we do offer manny other products in our online store, plese contact us through our contact us page, and provide the following info, need bay adptor for 3.5" drive bay for hard drive or a multimple hard drive tray. I know we do have a really nice modular one from Zalman if your case is not a Zalmn case also provide tha info to make sure it is compatible with other cases.

  • Peter Cactus lol

  • You forgot the thermal paste on the CPU cooler. That would not have gone well.

  • @111olbap

He put it on the processor. You don't have to apply it on both, as it's just intended to fill any gaps between the cooler and the processor. And because of that, it's pretty much recommended to put it on the cooler instead of the CPU, since it's easier to spread on a separate part that's not attached anywhere, and you can wipe off some paste if you put too much.

  • Cables and VGA?!?

  • @xBeyondInsane Now imagine the PC case closed with the soundproofing foam. (TOTAL SILENCE)... whith the case open and a mic up to the fans, sure you will hear a slight whisper, but real life it will be silent. also fan speeds can be modifed as well for the application.

  • did u just touched the cpu socket pins with ur greasy fingers without grounding you from static charge?

cant believe you actually used to fingers to spread the tim............

  • @DALYuseTAYLORMADE The guy in the video did that for time issues and did not get into detail on that as that is not the focus of the videos. Perahps we will do a video in the future for Beginners on how to apply thermal compound. The more interest people show and views and likes we get or questions and request the more videos we will do. Allot of time and money has gone into this particular 4 part production, unlike and un-boxing video this needs script and profesional lighting and sound etc..

  • i have a other question for you my friend! do you think that AMD 1055T CPU will be a lot better for multitasking than a Intel Quad i5... or its about the same thing when using a computer for many application? thanks

  • @mproductionsmusik im not a fan boy of any company i ike amd as much as i do intel, same with video ati versus nvidia, for some applications there is a advantage to a particular application. if we are talking video rendering tho i have not tested that amd cpu you mention and to give you a fair answer would have to put one side by side on a bench. i would be more likely incline to use an intel ofr vedio rendering and production. also some times rice point may come into play.

  • @acousticpc that computer would be really quiet if it had water cooling

  • @saguerraty This system is extremely quiet. Keep in mind liquid cooled PCs also need fans. While im not against water cooling, it can always be a risk, extra maintance and expensive. But we do provide those products as well for those that prefer to go that route.

  • @acousticpc Not all liquid cooling requires fans. There are such things as passive radiators.

  • @saguerraty But the performance is not good on passive radiators. the heat just sticks on their. We did not start carrying the zalman passive unit until they came out with a fan for the resorator. Even if you have it on lowest setting some air movement is needed. same goes with a passive cpu cooler, the case cooling design needs to be adequate, but always a good idea to have a low Db fan, you wont hear it anyway.

  • Can i drill a whole on my motherboard if theres a standoff on a place that dosen't match with the motherboard.

  • @markolo25 ...Why would you even think this is an option? Of course not!

  • Why are you using your finger? In the manual of Artic Silver 5 it says: "avoid contact with your skin!".

  • At first I was like: Dude that's not how you apply the TIM...

But then I: WHAT ARE YOU DOING???

  • Do NOT apply thermal compound like this. ESPECIALLY ARCTIC SILVER 5. Always, ALWAYS, drop a dot the size of an uncooked grain of rice on the center of the cpu and gently lay the heatsink on top and twist before securing it down. Never ever ever touch the top of the CPU without cleaning it after with isopropyl alcohol and wiping it with a lint free cloth. Spreading thermal paste with a credit card or your finger WILL create air bubbles and can damage your PC.

  • @Nadrealis how do you spread it then? im new to this and im currently having heat problems with my processor

  • @ShanxyBeast The biggest problem with how he does it is that how he shows WILL create air bubbles and heat will be condensed in between the processor and heatsink and will cause heat issues. youtube "how thermal compound spreads" and you'll see what I mean.

To your question: The BEST way that I've ever come across is using a product like IC Diamond or LiquidPRO liquid metal thermal compound. You put a dab of thermal compound the size of an uncooked grain of rice on top of the CPU directly

  • @ShanxyBeast on the middle of it and gently place the heatsink directly on top of the processor and twist a tiny bit before securing the heatsink down. If you look "linustechtips" on youtube, he has a good tutorial on applying thermal compound. Good luck. MAKE SURE NOT TO TOUCH THE CPU WITH YOUR FINGERS!!

  • @Nadrealis umm I think the grain of rice is toooooo small. I use the pea method because the paste spreads out to a larger area.

  • He is a faggot

  • why do they even put up that we are not repondsiable if you fuck up your pc lol I mean come on what they gonna do sue you lol

  • my PC s noisless BUT when my 5770 goes under load get this annoying "coil whine" (so its called) and it really is annoying, it comes from one of the capacitors.

  • @TheMoo1231 Sorry to hear that. Is it a fan-less video card or a air cooled?? That is not normal, never hearc that before.we sell fan-less video card and we never have issues with them.

  • @acousticpc its a very common problem, its a ASUS CUcore 5770 with stock fan, but its not coming from the fan it coming from a capacitor, it seems to happen with alot of them, do you think this would be covered by RMA/Warranty? the sound isnt THAT loud, its around 30 DB, its just an annoying sound if you know what i mean.

  • @TheMoo1231 that is not normal, i have never experiance that and 30 dba is very loud. i would think a company like Asus would take care of that for you. We sell the Gigabyte 5750 fan-less. great card! love the silence.

  • @acousticpc sorry but 30dba isnt loud at all, at least for a coil whine, a coil whine is when the coils on the graphics card have not been soldered together properley, so they vibrate, most likely just mine (i doubt its all of the asus 5770's that do it, otherwise asus have some serious fixing to be doing!) lol

  • @TheMoo1231 if a refrence board electronics in this case a coil was making noise i would be concerne. But that's just me. Good luck with taht hope ASUS takes care of it, i dont see wht they should not. That is not normal.

  • Why are you using LED fans when the case is closed and there are no windows on the side panel? That's pointless!BTW,you should use Thermaltake Turbo 120 or Cooler Master Sickle Flow fans, they're quiet too.I use them,my PC is noiseless.

  • please subcribe my channel sonia11able

  • Make more!

  • man, your an idiot, WAY to much thermal paste!

  • Im going to buy a new pc when ddr4 ram comes out in 2012 right now i have ddr2 ram

  • if you want a good silent graphic card

just get a sapphire 5850 toxic

  • @EddieLolz3r Stock VGA coolers are just simply too loud and not enough performance. We prefer to put our own cooling solution for ultra quiet and high-performance.

  • @acousticpc So a 5770 Vapor-x has a bad cooler too? I rather enjoy it, considering it's overclocked already as well.

  • i have a ? does it matter what motherboard you have for the cooler the cpu cooler or the right processer i am new and wanted to know please pm me or anything i will give you more detail if you wanted to help me thanks :)

  • @SnEaKyChAmEl3oN I would need to know what CPU processor brand, such as AMD or Intel and the socket type. You can also contact us directly through our web site Acoustic PC.

  • Building a Quiet PC with 4 (!!!!) 10k rpm HDs ... also the CPU Cooler Could be a Prolimatech, the Thermalright just isn't that good.

The case is ridiculous ... I mean there is Lian Li and Silverstone.

  • @89schlappe These hard drives are from Seagte and they are very quiet and we needed the performance in raid for audio and video production, you dont have to use 4 drives like we did. Prolimatech is a good cooler we sell itas wel as The Thermalright product and there is also Noctua and Zalman as well but currently at the time of the video as well as to date the Thermalright provides the best performance. We focuses on quiet & Zalman cases are just simply more sturdy and solid. but those are nice

  • @89schlappe Lian Li cases cost nearly double what the Zalman case costs and if you dont need an aluminum case then... no pojnt really. Also as said, for video editing 10k drives are noticeably better and more responsive.

  • How is the temps with the thermalright gpu cooler? cause I'm tired of hearing my 260's fan while playing Bad Company 2.

  • Four harddrives? Why not just buy one big like 1TB.

  • that was a very bad way to paste. 1 using your finger has oils. should be cleaned with 99% alcohol but no lower than 70% and the die under the chips spread in a circular diameter. he definitely pasted wrong! however pretty good videos.

  • There are a couple problems I have with this build process.

First of all you assemble the motherboard (cpu, cooler, and ram) outside of the case. It's easier and you're less likely to damage the board before insertion. Second, if you're building the system for somebody else, you don't put the power supply in to where it's pulling air from the bottom of the case. If the customer puts the computer on the floor it will suck in dust and SHORTEN the life span of the power supply.

  • tuniq tx-2 is better than as5. (lower temps. and non conductive)

  • how much did this cost?

  • Dude, why didn't you ground yourself before touching the MoBo? Idiot.

  • @toasterbread75 He's wearing cotton clothing, there's no need. If he were wearing artificial materials like polyester then he may need an grounding carpet or a grounding cable.

  • Tooooooooo much thermal paste -_-'

  • My PC owns this PC with ease. Want my Specs? PM me.

  • @tzaxo1 lol my pc beats all urs i bet i have a asus rampage motherboard i7 3ghz processo 8gb ram 5tb hard disk and a ati hd5850 vga 1gb

  • @tzaxo1 lol dude windows xp sux balls i recomend vista or win 7 and lol my vga beats ur vgao.o

  • @TheWazanabe: WXP doesn't suck, that's just your opinion. With WXP is just as secure, can customize more, and takes less PC resources. I can get my WXP down to 17 running programs, Vista only down to like 40. WXP can do everything W7 can. I just don't want that fancy look and tools I won't use. And if you recommended Vista, you need to do more research. Vista is one of the worse OS's out there.

As for the video card, I could have got a Radeon HD 5970 4GB,but I don't play games.I don't need it.

  • @tzaxo1 idiot i dint say windows vista is the best its obviously windows 7. but windows xp is dying................lots of ppl use it because there computer cant support windows 7 and btw windows vista dsnt suck it just uses up alot of memory but since u have ram more than 1gb u will not see the problems of vista

  • @TheWazanabe: XP isn't dying at all,it doesn't lose updates until 2014.W7 isn't the best either. You are yapping about your opinion, not facts.Just because it's the newest doesn't mean anything,W7 still has a lot of issues.Vista is more then a RAM killer, it goes way deeper, into the coding, plus your lucky to get any drivers working for Vista. So if Vista sucks, why would you, recommend it?At the moment, XP IS better because you get much more power out of your system,+ other things. Whicharefacts.

  • @tzaxo1 actually i was saying my opinion dork and yah fine windows xp is ok....but i dont use xp any more coz i used it for 4years and im tired of it. and windows vista also is my opinion my system can support it so i say its good.but if urs is old and cant support thats nt my problem

  • @TheWazanabe: Fail.

  • @tzaxo1 watcha mean loser

  • @TheWazanabe are you mentally rearded? windows vista has lots of issues no matter what sytem you run it on, same with XP and vista. what hes trying to say is that XP is the most stable out of the three, and hes correct. windows 7 is also very good but Vista isnt THAT bad, you just have to have alot of experience to use it without any issues.

  • Come on, is safer to instal the memory, processor and cooler before you instal the motherboard inside the case because otherwise you can damage the motherboard when you pull the memories or the coller...

and i thougth yo were going to use watercooling

Hope i Made myself clear, sorry for my bad English

  • wow i love this Pc

  • Even with all those fans the pc is quieter than normal??

Also is that processor a server processor?

  • Part 3 is here now! I really like this guide, its clear and easy to follow, good instructions! Thanks for setting this up

  • you made the mistake of not installing the motherboard spacers before screwing the motherboard to the case

  • cpu fan looks retarted.

Why not use something smaller that came with its own fan?

    and its huge.

  • Peter Kapas reminds me the 70s decade. :)

  • Yeah wheres part 3 ?

Btw. Im doing the robotdance over here. Dunno why :s

  • Where's part 3??? And please give us some idea of the cost of all of these parts. Thanks!

  • @TerisOneil I have all of the best gaming things you need saved in my favorites for being a starting pc gamer. The cost is a total of $850. I'm on a budget. Those specs can play crysis and WOW on VERY HIGH settings.

  • amazing

  • can't wait for part 3...come on release the beast!!!!:) lol

  • Can someone give me an idea what all of this would cost? Thanks.

  • good

pls name of first song :)

  • Really great video, Cant wait for part 3!

  • Is there enough space for an 280radiator under the top??

  • @PhilDeluxe2k8, I think a normal sized one might fit, but don't take my word for it. Those thinner ones would fit for sure.

  • very nice pc...

    can't wait to part 3

    when part 3 come?

  • @avishy1200: In a week or so.

  • W00t, I've been waiting for this!
