If we in the developed world were to stop 100% of greenhouse emissions tomorrow the developing nations would just take up the slack and produce the consumer products we stoped making in even more poluting factories and become richer and start buying and driving cars and polution would end up going up as a result not down.
Some of earth's coping periods have cost the existence of 95% of all species. Is that the kind of "coping" that's all right with you?

Sun heats earth temperatures rise. As temperatures rise more water evapourates, more evapouration more cloads. The more cloads the more sun is blocked and reflected back into space so less sun heats the earth. Less sun hits the earth the more cool it becomes. Problem solved and I didnt need the billions Al Gore and his band of social parrasites want.

When scientists are advocating that manufacturing should be done in countries where the resources are(to reduce transport polution and spillage accidents) and where emision standards are the highest,I will believe that they act with good intentions. Many of us have seen documentaries about Greenland showing very old, broken down houses and villages dated to the era of the Vikings, with only the foundation of the houses remaining; houses and villages located in areas of Greenland that now only have permafrost. The land where these houses and villages are was once farm land where crops were grown
Its now permafrost in these same areas impossible to grow crops in, i.e., it's colder there now than in the past when the Vikings were there.

Just think of it...with the snow pack melting we won't have droughts in Arizona anymore..we'll have plenty of water, and we'll have new beach front property maybe in northern florida..eastern california..I'm going to buy up land there, based on the Global Warming science..LOL

Man Made Global Warming is a lie. We had warmer temps during the middle ages when the Vikings settled Greenland, grapes were grown in England & Canada, and there is NO RECORD OF SEA ICE in the Vikings records. Oh yeah, there were no SUV's either. The masses are so gullible :) It's the sun stupid, thats why the rest of the solar system warmed up as well.

Antarctic ice has recovered and this extremely harsh winter has retored virtually all ice in the arctic that melted during the summer thaw last year.
How could we have had such a cold winter if our climate is warming out of control ??? PS- The sun has been quiet the last few months- hardly any sunspot activity. Started last October/ Hmmmmm and we had a very cold winter...... You "Man Made GW" folks are nutty ! :)

China is opening coal powered plants at a record pace and their pollution problem grows out of control and unchallenged. If Europe and America can't grow and expand, the jobs and industry move to the 3rd world. It's the robin hood effect. With less restrictions in the 3rd world, pollution will be a nightmare.
The problem is pollution and the use of our natural resources, not GW. The answer lies in new technology and alternative fuels. Stop lying to the masses !!

Regardless of your opinion on Global Warming, and its severity as an environmental problem, this is an example of the logical fallacy, "Misleading Vividness". Look it up.
While it might have a great emotional impact to personally see a mass of ice collapsing in Greenland, that individual incident by itself says nothing about the global climate.
You could have seen exactly the same thing if you were around as the Earth was going into the last Ice Age.

My gosh, if we need to cool the earth, all we have to do is blow a few nukes in the desert! And as far as my personal observations are concerned? My senses and intellect are razor sharp, and if I detect coldness, then, brother, it is cold. And the ice fields? Glaciers have always "calved." Lets warm it up a little!

I think concern over this issue is laughable. Is it real? It sure could be. But to correct it, we'd need total global cooperation. Not going to happen. We still have 7th century idiots cutting people's heads off, we have hugely destructive wars for trumped up reasons---people will not cooperate globally for any reason. So I do my part by riding a bicycle everywhere and laughing at the "environmentalists" driving SUV's. Sorry, but is funny in a sick way.

Keep up the good work. CFC pollution caused a global cooling in the 1970s - which has since been resolved. Global warming is now called climate change, caused by Carbon dioxide - predicting the effects is like predicting the weather. There will be more energy in the earth system though, so its like shaking a snow globe.

Oh, heck, I'm sorry too. I just get frustrated because I work really hard to be green, and then I see all these "environmentalists" who live lavish lifestyles, big houses (destroying a lot of forest for the wood), driving big cars many miles, drinking WATER out of one-use plastic bottles and then assuaging their guilt by supporting governmental carbon control programs, carbon offsets, etc. Which is fine, but can't we live in smaller houses? Drink tap water? Ride bikes? Consumerism be damned!

Look ReduceGHGs I dont doubt that your motivations are well meaning, but what I and others have said from the start is that NOTHING is going to change CO emmissions. If we in the developed world were to stop 100% of greenhouse emissions tomorrow the developing nations would just take up the slack and produce the consumer products we stoped making in even more poluting factories and become richer and start buying and driving cars and polution would end up going up as a result not down.

Some of earth's coping periods have cost the existence of 95% of all species. Is that the kind of "coping" that's all right with you?
Of course the biosphere will change. The point is not to needlessly deteriorate its habitability for humans. As per the best studies available, reducing GHG emissions is necessary. Apathy in the face of this foreseen danger is irrational.
P.S. Read about saturation levels of CO2 sinks like the ocean.

What am I doing about it? Now that's a bit personal but three thing I'll share.
1. I encourage policy makers to take aggressive action.
2. I encourage the election of candidates that understand the crisis.
3. I teach others, like you, that we all need to learn about the issue.
4. I reduced my carbon footprint.
Sure fossil fuels will be with us for their duration. It's a matter of using them in a way that's not self-destructive. We MUST act. Defeatism is counter productive.

Stephen E. Schwartz of the Brookhaven National Laboratory has produced a peer reviewed paper where he has computed the level of temperature forcing for a doubling of CO2 to be about 1.1C. This means that temperatures will rise about 1 deg C over the next 100 years. Hardly anything to get excited about. Here is the link if you wish to read it for yourself. Natural events and cycles are taken into consideration. You don't think they'd overlook something like that do you. You focus on funding. Much of the research is funded by governments as it isn't profitable for the private sector. Many of the institutions I listed are NOT gov funded. Besides governments would prefer NOT to have to deal with th GW issue.
P.S. Consider who funds the propaganda to the contrary and the FACT that there are NO peer reviewed studies to support their contentions.

Sun heats earth temperatures rise. As temperatures rise more water evapourates, more evapouration more cloads. The more cloads the more sun is blocked and reflected back into space so less sun heats the earth. Less sun hits the earth the more cool it becomes. Problem solved and I didnt need the billions Al Gore and his band of social parrasites want.

I'll be happy to provide you with a list of the many institutions. They span the globe. If you choose you can look up their funding sources. Many are well know, are considered very reliable, and they date back over 100 years.
The institutions that don't agree that humanity is contributing to global warming are typically funded by the oil industry, corporate interests, or corporate think tanks. I've researched it.

Perhaps you misunderstand. I'm speaking of the specific data, analysis, and conclusions from the most credible scientific institutions. These studies ARE proof. There is no such proof to the contrary only a few opinions and propaganda that influence the ignorant and gullible.
Again, no kidding there are natural cycles but there has never been 6.5 billion humans dumping 70 million tons of waste into the atmosphere on a daily basis. Think there are no consequences? You're not thinking.

Volcanos have dumped many millions of times that into the atmosphere throughout history. That is why the earth has natural feedback processes. If it didnt there would have been a thermal run away incident during one of the millions of massive eruptions that the earth has experienced over the hundreds of millions of years that it has existed. Well said but I think this was aimed at me.
When scientists are advocating that manufacturing should be done in countries where the resources are(to reduce transport polution and spillage accidents) and where emision standards are the highest,I will believe that they act with good intentions. But more taxes for research grants for an unconfirmed theory without adressing the real problem, just moving the polution from one place to another. This reaks of self interest by the researchers.

To have them processed in countries with little or no emmission standards by people working for below poverty wages. Then ship finished products back half way around the world to be sold back to us. Thats fine by governments but when I fill my car I pay 62% tax on fuel because I am causing pollution. GO FIGURE! WE ARE MORONS ARE WE NOT!

Remember the Y2K computer bug. Planes were going to fall from the sky, cities plunged into darkness, banking system melt down and society brought to its knees. What really happened a few already exceedingly rich computer geeks got even more exceedingly richer all hale Mr Gates. We are being played for suckers again. The more we learn from history, the more we realise we dont learn from history.

If you think we are "being played for suckers" where is your evidence? I have seen no credible scientific institution that concludes humanity is NOT contributing to climate change. ALL basically agree anthropogenic global warming is occurring. ALL peer reviewed studies (that I know of) also basically concur.
Again, on what do you base your opinion? Some corporate/oil funded group or some corporate think tank?
Please explain.

Evidence? I launch boat at boat ramp,The water is at the same place each high tide and low tide at same time of year. I was wearing a jumper last week and its the middle of our summer. Maybe developed nations have the luxury of believeing in fairy tales but do you really thing developing nations or the third world are going to give a crap about this non sense. All this will do is move the polution and wealth from one part of the world to another.

How do you spell Emissions Trading? Another well thought out scheme. To help emerging nations industry. Oh and I didn't mention that industry used to be in the United states. If something is repeated often by many, young and easily influenced people will believe it to be fact. Stupid people in large groups.
