You had some awesome jumping, Mousie! I know you don't like critique but I must suggest- right after Ty jumps you lean forward and look unbalanced when he lands. Try gripping him a little more and you should be able to bend back into position. I'm sure your trainer has already told you this, though.
It took me a long time to stop doing that and I don't even jump. XD
lol my farm got two 17.2hh horses this summer, one saddlebred and 1 quarter horse. i've ridden both of them! they are hard to ride, but i love them!! <3
well the saddlebred is actually really easy, the quarter horse is hard because he uses his super long legs to take super long strides, and hes a lot stronger than us. but he's still great :)
o, i love it too!! that horse is one of my favorites on my farm! you're just really tired after ride him! :D i've never ridden a friesian :( i want to really bad tho!!!
yea, you dont even have to post! haha they have VERY nice strides! Ive ridden one once and my brother rode one in lessons ALOT! he was a great rider before he quit!
Yea I want to ride big horses! I want a 17HH dappled grey Hanovarian mare with a black mane and tail! *sigh*like THATS going to happen! Oh well at least I have my breyer version!
which breyer? omg i want that too! i've seen a horse EXACTLY like that at a horse show! i asked the owner and she said it was a hanoverian! she was in the 3 foot class she was AMAZING!!!
i love them too! but the horse i love is a bay! i haven't actually officially showed in eventing yet, but i am soon. and i know how to do it so i count myself as an eventer already xD
Omg that has to be the cutest thing EVER! :D You riding 13 hand ponies and I ride lesson horsies that range from 17-21 years old. xD But heck they got spunk! :D
ya i still ride and am good at it but i just cant jump because my horse broke her leg and now she only dose arena work with lots of meds but she still is a good reinner but im getting a new horse thats hurt but might beable to jump dont now:-))
We did that on the trail the first time that I jumped-the horse over jumped it by about four feet, me just clinging on without stirrups, flying with this crazy quarter horse. I can stick to a horse pretty well.
I just had a lesson too, I ride saddleseat! I love it, I just rode the most amazing saddlebred last week. You and Ty looked really great in your lesson!
I have noticed my releasing and I did talk about my shoulders with my trainer. I have to become more conscience of that but at the moment all I was thinking of was getting him to go forward and not refuse. I will work on my shoulders more. no worries! ^^ Thank you.
ok! yea, once i felt how it felt having my shoulders back over jumps, it feels a whole lot better! it makes me feel more secure in my seat! i need to work on my realeases too! lol
I really need to learn to trust Ty more and release over jumps. I shouldn't hold him back that much anymore. :P I can see how it would help my position.
Yeah, it is hard for me to trust Ty because you never know what he'll be like. I want to buy some spurs so that I can get him going easier without having to use my crop so much or kicking. Because to me, truth be told, it would look bad for me to be kicking the crap outta Ty in a dressage test. :P
yea, if you ever like kick your horse hard in a dressage test they will mark you down so fast you dont even know! a bad dressage score will ussually cost you the trial! thats why i dont like dressage! let me loose on the XC!
I can imagine. Dressage is supposed to be as natural and relaxed as possible. I know! I haven't done an actual 3 day event yet or XC but jumping solids are fun and I think that if i just let loose in a big field over jumps it will be less tense. Or idk. :P But I really want to see if my trainer will let me take Ty to a mini event one day. But to achieve that I have to get him moving on time without too much encouragement.
yea! you should school a course first, i am going to school later in the winter to get ready for the spring season. just work on leg preasure one day and have him moving off and onto your leg. thats what my trainer does during winter, we hardly jump. we drop our sturrips and work with our horses on bendin and all that stuff.

StormValleyStables 3 years ago
oh, i wasn't thinking he was, i was just saying i want to!!! xD

breyerhorsecrazy 3 years ago

Mousenose 3 years ago
good job mousie! you did great, but you could give a little more release and try to think sholders back. that will help from falling forward.
StormValleyStables 3 years ago
I have noticed my releasing and I did talk about my shoulders with my trainer. I have to become more conscience of that but at the moment all I was thinking of was getting him to go forward and not refuse. I will work on my shoulders more. no worries! ^^ Thank you.
