  • Well it is Difficult to find these Transistors as Original im was Lucky to find

Original 2SC3133 and 2SC2029 and lot of MRF475 Originals at a Electronic and Computer Flea Market in Germany as well

sometimes you can find also Mitsubishis at Ebay but be Carefull you not purchase FAKES!!!!

  • the radio I was going to put this fake 1969 in was a Realistic TRC-451 AM/SSB radio, will check out the 2SC2312 .

  • Well I'm glad I came across your video because I was just about to install one of these fake 1969 I bought off of the famous auction site. The seller sold them cheap and they came in a five pack... Thank you for your work you put into this video and bringing this scam out into the light,

  • Great video!!

  • I heard a rooster at 1:43

  • Your lucky, i hear it all the time!!

  • @weazle66 Thanks for the info. I did junk a radio after changing the finals. After seeing this i think they were fake.To bad it was a good radio.

  • Ooo, that got a bit hot :)

  • Im glad you mentioned that diode junction, i tested mine and i saw it and was wondering if there was a problem with it.

  • Thank you!

  • Very informative, I actually bought these "fake" 2SC1969 power transistors from a seller in HK. For a few dollars, I received half dozens of them. Oh well, I need to get the real McCoys now!

  • If you are looking for 2SC1969 at a good price that actually work then check out my videos for the ELEFLOW replacements.

I have the 2SC1969 and 2SC2312 ELEFLOW replacement transistors which work as good if not better than the original Mitsubishi's, i have also listed them on Ebay for people to buy.

You won't get a working 2SC1969 for the price you paid from those crap HongKong sellers!!!

  • I ended up with a fake 1306 driver for my President Madison. Well it didnt work. I bought one from my local CB shop for $15.00 and it is original and works.

  • Keep up the good work educating people Mark, hopefully put these crooked dealers out of business, because they know exactly what they are selling, despite their pleas of ignorance, best wishes George, always been a pleasure to deal with you,and I will happily vouch for anything you sell.

  • Hi Goerge, yes i am afraid these fakes are all over the market.

Its amazing that since Mitsubishi stopped making the 1969/2166/2312 type transistors there are now more on the market than when they were making them!

Ebay is swamped with them and people buy them because there cheap, do they really think there going to get a working one for a couple of dollars each - no i don't think so.

The other problem is refurbished parts which are recycled used parts being sold as new.

  • These crap transistors are also on sale in some of the bigger electronic suppliers in the uk too now, first thing to ring alarm bells would be advertising with no picture of the actual part on sale, cheap prices is another thing too watch for,the original parts when available are very expensive.

  • Quality video Mark, exposing the crap available all over the world, another thing people can look out for with genuine mitsubishis is small plastic triangles between the pins,if they ain't there they ain't genuine,

i have 2sc1969,2sc2312 and 2sc2166 and all have the small plastic triangles dropping down between the transistor pins.

  • Very nice review of " cheap Chinese " fake transistors. When i need a genuine 1969, i tend to look on Ebay for the old 25w cb amps from the 90's(burners) as they always contain the genuine transistor. Can pick them up for £3 - £6 if lucky. On a different note, are those eleflow substitutes any good? Cheers.

  • Well if you watch my other videos you will see just how good the Eleflow replacements are.

I use these replacements now and i have all the popular CB outputs like the 1969/2312/2166, they all have emitter ballasting just like the original Mitsubishi's and power output is as good if not better!

I have listed them all on Ebay for people to buy so take a look, beats all the other junk people are selling on there!!

  • Thank you! I've bought today two 2166 in an electronics shop and they were fakes. I've thought for a long time that my radio was broken in another component and really the problem was this fakes

  • Sorry to hear about your FAKES, however about 90% of Mitsubishi 2SC2166/2SC1969/2SC2312 transistors on the market are now fake which is why i as a engineer no longer buy them - i use a new replacemnt which works as good as the original Mitsubishi parts, people still do not understand that Mitsubishi made these parts obsolete years ago which is why there are so many fakes on the market. People buy them because they are so cheap and they think they are a good buy but they are just buying junk!!

  • I thought that I would be able to find these transistors in an elecronics shop, I thought that it would be the best option instead of buying these on the internet but the result was the same...It's good know that I can find good replacements on the internet.

I have also a MRF477 in a President Jackson and I have the same dude because with this if I increase the power over 4W, audio in AM get compressed. I had not this problem with the other MRF477 I had. Now the max power in AM FM is 10W...

  • The sad thing about all of this is that you will find counterfeits of transistors that only cost $2-$3 US for real ones. What a ridiculous waste of everyone's time. Be especially careful of older obsolete transistors. It's better to get the specs & find a current transistor that matches it so that you can buy from from legit sources like Digikey or Mouser. Oh, and shut that crazy rooster up! :)

  • This is VERY common with audio power transistors, as well. I bought some from different sellers on ebay to find out about all of this counterfeiting business. If you were to lay a chisel on the edge of those transistors & whack it with a hammer, the case will usually split open cleanly. You'll find that the fakes have much smaller silicon dies inside them than real ones. They can't produce or handle the proper power - that's why they heat up & fail. Usually taking other parts with them.

  • I have bought a few of these. Some were from a so called real cb shop! They refunded me though. Just looking at the ones you have and will have to try some of them

  • These FAKE's are being sold all over the world, about 80% of the 1969,2312,2166, 2078 etc on EBAY are all counterfeits!

Most are marked as Mitsubishi's but do not work.
