  • this would be more helpful if it were closed captioned or you commented on what you are signing ...we parents of deaf children are just learning to use ASL .

  • @omaeve As I stated in my description below my vlog, the English text version for my vlog is at my website. You can go there. For some reason, I am unable to type the link in this comment. Go to my description, cut and paste the website url and you'll know what I said.

  • Good vlog, Shel! I agree everything you said here...HR people who refused to allow ABC to show their face on TV is because they did wrong and are criminals. Big corps like to hire criminals anyway. Deaf people from all over the world should send letter to ABC to let the man know who stood up to thank him for standing up what is right because not many people would do that or are like that.

  • @MeDeafYes I like your suggestion about writing letters to ABC to let the man know he has our gratitude for speaking out.

I would also recommend that we all ask ABC to do a TV segment, or even special on audism.

  • amen! amen! amen! yeahhhhh!!!! join the PROTEST! good points made about this TV program. I saw it and was disgusted at the advice of the professional human resources folks promoting audism.

  • @ASLElla Yes the advice was disgusting, but I'm glad it happened since it gave us insight on what goes on behind the doors and light is now piercing the darkness. It's time to flush the darkness with brighter lights

  • Shel, I have to admit that I was one of those who got angry at that show. Your vlog made me think hardcer and I have to agree with you that one is a perfect and concrete evidence of audistic practices, especially by so called professionals, HR specialists! Good vlog!

  • I absolutely agree with you 100%. What these HR Recruiters did was absolutely a violation of ADA Law. I do hope and pray that these recruiters will be found and get fired. I cannot believe my own eyes watching this show and I'm appalled by this. Yes, we all must stand up and fight for this. If you, deaf people, don't want to stand up what's right, then we're not a team. ADA law has been around for more than 20 years and we're not there yet? Come on, guys! Let's do it together. :O))

  • @TeXaSAnGeL777 ADA is there but who runs the EEOC? Who? Tell me. All hearing people.

  • @hasnamaste

you can see the whole show via MrJoeyBaer's vlog. Did you subscribe him?

  • @hasnamaste Right. The Deaf have been facing attitudinal barriers in the job market, but until now we couldn't pinpoint exactly where or how we were discriminated against. The invisible is now made visible (Patti Durr's quote).

  • A M E N!! I agree with you alllll the way!! I was fuming that these people had the nerve to advise managers how to discriminate in a sneaky way so they won't get sued! Duh?!! BUT there's THAT proooof!! Evidence!! (But their faces were covered, grrrr!!!) No wonder these people didn't want to show their faces, COWARDS!! And cuz they don't want to be sued either for giving these managers their advices!! Great vlog!! I'm gonna share this with others!!

  • yeah good job, i agree with you.

  • Now you see why I have my reason to be angry all those years for their own lying through their audist teeth. I knew the truth that they prevented us to work on a real job for our own living. I m just tired of doing the application all the time that I dont get anything to hear from them or received their sloppy work.

  • Wow. I missed that show, so I watched on Quinone's website which doesn't provide cc. How ironic! I hope they'll sue baker and Human Resource specialists. They have to defeat their Castberggaard Syndrome to do that. You'll enjoy "Castberggaard Syndrome update" by Tomaskold. I noticed many of us have that syndrome. We can learn on how to defeat that. Anyone...any advice on that?

  • @Salticid68....go to this link Hulu.com and type in What Would You Do? on search box, click on the Feb 4th episode box....give it a few days to make it a closed captioned....it doesn't have cc yet.

  • @DeafPoet2 Thank you. There is a new video with cc, indeed! You can find it under wwyd Deaf, a YouTube username.

  • @Salticid68 I think we can learn by studying the history of other minorities such as the African-Americans, women, GLBT and how they got to where they are now as compared to years past. Look to the Cherokees in the USA. They are now gaining ground in the U.S.A. We also could learn from them and apply the lessons to ourselves.

  • @shelpotma1 Yes, it took long time for them to take grounds. I guess it'll maybe take us longer, because we're more isolated than them and now with CI and, in some cases, alone in schools. I guess it's a good thing that it's a new word, so it'll may cut short for us. It'll make us to think about.
