  • New intro is much more exciting. Good job!

  • @prettyboy1970 Thanks ^-^

  • Excellent job; remake is 10x better than original. Much more compelling, as another poster said, and cleaner / more professional.

  • Awesome remake of that old opening. I'm impressed. :)

  • @AlarusOne Thank you very much, I'm very happy you enjoyed it.

  • This show taught me 3 things: We need less pollution, fewer monkeys, and a hell of a lot more jet packs.

  • @billkasperdotcom And DEFINITELY less lycra.

  • VERY nicely done. A pro job. Oh, and Jean Marie Hon was the best!

  • Great job! Your reworking of the intro is impressive! Much more compelling than the original. I was 6 when Ark II aired so I only barely remember it, but I've just added it to my Netflix queue.

  • @Datan0de Thank you very much, I had a lot of fun doing this. It's a great series, way ahead of it's time. :)

  • Jean Marie Hon = YUMM

  • The RV was bad ass....

  • They don't make them like this anymore...and that is sad.

  • @TheLSK I agree, It is.....Thanks for watching :)

  • The episode i remember was when Jonah was a human chess piece in a game.Anyone remember what the title and synopsis for that episode was?Remember seeing it back in 1977

  • much better than the original. glad to know im not the only one that liked this show, or even remembers it.

  • @MyCatChuck Thanks glad you liked it :<))

  • Super Amazing remake of the original opening, I love it! I remember seeing this show on TV as a kid, and you've made it look even more cooler than it was. I would have added the producer credit as originally seen, and the Filmation logo (the 'Multicolor Letters') at the beginning, but it's still great!

  • @Neville6000 Thanks, Yeah! I should have added it but I didn't think of it at the time.

  • Not bad. Not bad at all.

I notice that Ruth got a lot more attention than Samuel. Smart move. ;)

A show like this could work today. Or maybe not. Gene Roddenberry did something along these lines, and in three efforts it didn't make it as a TV show.

  • @SailorBarsoom Thanks so much :<)

  • 1,000 bottlecaps for that monkey! Fallout 3 forever, baby! 8 )

  • That's what I always wanted... to tool around in an RV with a hot Asian chick.

  • totaly cool, the show was realy cool, i do miss show's like this, this is what realy good tv was all about back then, i think they should bring things like this back, instead of the garbage that is shown on tv today

  • @angelo062367 Thanks very much. I agree 100%......they just don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • totaly cool, the show was realy cool

  • Wow, epic intro. They should hire you to do a next generation.

  • @jason1973tl WOW! thanks so much for that kind comment. I'm so happy you enjoyed this.

  • The only thing missing is EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS

    NORM PRESCOTT and LOU SCHEIMER

    but otherwise first class!

  • @Ccrazyfella Your right! I did forget to add that....all I can really do now Is add it to the info bar, and I did. These guys were a brilliant after all. It's shameful that I didn't give the correct credit.

  • Nicely updated... but still hoplessly 70's! That decade seemed to leave its signature on everything it touched! Even things set in different periods! (Probably why all the bi-centenial shows did so well! The hair cuts were the same... the men's anyway!) I remember liking this show as a kid, though the science was lost on me. Probably because I was too busy gawking at Miss Hon!

  • @dukes0916 Thanks...Yeah I agree..but it sure was an interesting decade..lol

  • You seriously got way too much time on your hands BUT I can see the big budget remake- Josh Lucas as Jonah; Grace Park as Ruth, Fez from "That 70s Show" as the Mexican Kid and a CGI Monkey!!

  • Jean Marie Jon... SUPER HOT, her and the woman who Played ISIS... Oh to be a kid back then.

  • JUST GOT IT ON NETFLIX, AWESOME. LOU SCHEIMER SHOWS ROCKED, REMEMBER TARZAN?

  • @jimdiamond Hmmm. I do remember Tarzan, however I don't believe I watched it. But I'll certainly agree that Scheimer shows rocked!...LOL :<))

  • Great Job! Maybe you should make a pilot episode of a new, updated Ark II. How timely and current would that be? I loved this show as a kid and have thought about it now and then throughout the years. It was great to see it on DVD and it's a shame they only made 1 season. Definitely one of the best Saturday morning shows. Thank you.

  • @robcam1138 Thanks so much .......Hmmmm!....I never thought about it......Maybe?....I'll have to think on it....thanks for the suggestion. :<)

  • @darkstarkc99 I was a big fan of this show when I was a kid you did such a great job updating the intro to a more contemporary trailer. I loved it!! You have great editing skills. This makes me want to watch your new version if it ever existed. Great job!! Are you a film student?

  • @Nelsonics Thank you very much for your kind comment. had a lot of fun making it. and no! I'm not a film student. just somebody who likes to edit in my spare time. :<)

  • i remember watching this as a kid thinking it looked so futuristic (which it did at the time i guess) but looking back now over 30yrs later it retains certian looks ..hairstyles, color combinations and the boxy look of the veichles that are just distinctly 70's....still a great kids show for its time way before the days of the Eco Movement would be more or less a part of everyday society

  • Jean Marie Hon was a certifiable Hottie!

  • I have the DVD set, Its great.... I'm also the guy that has the Brubaker you see on Youtube.. There is a movie called "Virtual Combat" with Don the Dragon Wilson..

There are 2 Brubakers in it, Police vehicles... There is one in "Soylent Green" also

I'll post some more videos one of these days, I didn't post the last, somebody else who was interested in Brubakers did.. I sent it to them.

By the way, The left are Technically Automecca's If you want a desktop Brubaker pic. Aeromecca@aol.com

  • Wow, this is like the first multi-cultural TV show ever: a European, an Asian hottie, a hispanic kid ... AND AN APE!

Okay, by modern standards, we're missing an Indian doctor but otherwise the line-up is complete ... :)

  • You know, you've done a very nice job. I believe this show only ran for one season, 1976, but I've never forgotten it. I just ordered the 15 episode DVD set. Again: Well done and thanks..... Saturday mornings were great back then...

  • @billXJR9 Thanks very much. Yeah!..they don't make em' like this anymore..LOL I was looking for this series for years. I'm so glad they are releasing them on DVD. Now I can grow up all over again...LOL....Thanks again :<)

  • The vehicle used in this show looks similar to the one in Highwayman.

  • @southport97....I don't know....maybe a little in the front...... but the highwayman truck was just that "a Tractor and Trailer"...the ark was more of an R.V. Although I can see the small similarities.

  • Ruth is a pretty good piece of eye candy!

  • one of my favorite dvds

  • It's quite the collection, I was impressed that they still had one of the cast members still around to talk about the show.

  • It's always great to find others who love the same old cheesy kids shows that I did! WOOT ARK II!!

  • Ahhhhh!.....they don't make em' like this anymore....lol.....Thanks for the comment :))

  • I don't remember that show at all. The ark is pretty cool looking, even by today's more advanced technology. The narrator in the original sounds like Peter Graves. Nice video. I found yours more exciting than the original. Way better. Hmm....probaby cause we only had two tv stations back then is why I never heard of that show...wasn't on either of our two stations. LOL

  • Thanks so much :)) Hmmm, I guess the show was more obscure than I though. I used to watch alot of T.V when I was a kid....You only had 2 channels?....How did you survive?.....lol.....I always enjoyed this show for it's live action scenes, no models...they used the real thing..and I'm sure It could hold up to today's show tech....Oh! and the narrator was "Erik Gunden"(really Lou Scheimer Erik was just his stage name) BTW Scheimer was one of the producers.

  • Yep, just two channels, both local, and one was always snowy. LOL We were very lucky to get Space 1999 back then.

  • LOL, it sort of reminds me of "Dukes of Hazard" in space...hee hee

  • Hey! I remember that show...actually Ark II takes place on earth. I guess you could replace Boss Hog with Adam (the chimp) ..lol..It would be interesting to do a comparison between the two shows :)

  • I vaguely remember this....I would probably watch it now!! lol

  • Yeah!...you gotta go way, way back. I actually forgot about the show until I saw the DVD, then It all came back to me. I was always disappointed by the opening title, like Miranda said, it didn't have a catchy theme song.o hopefully I fixed that...lol...thanks so much for the comment :))

  • Hey buddy! Nope...don't remember Ark 11 at all!! What year did it come out? If it was out the same time as Space 99, back in those days I was watching Kolchak the Night Stalker, Cirlce of Fear...those typse of shows! I loved X Ray Dog's theme much better! and that was Davecom narrating wasn't it? great job!

  • Oh well!...I thought you might have remembered it. but I guess not. It ran in 1976 on CBS. It was called Ark 2 (Ark II) It was on around the same time as S99 and Thunderbirds. I was a sci-fi freak.....I still am..If it was "sci-f"i...I was watchin' it...lol...They had a lot of hit and miss shows back in the 70's this on never got out of season one like so many others. and I did the narration. :)) Just altered it a bit to make me sound remotely like the original guy..lol..I'm glad you enjoyed it.

  • You know I really should look over my typing for errors! HA! I do loads of typos! anyway...good job on the vocals! I thought for sure it was Davecom! You sound so much like him...altering the voice and all! Besides Space 99...I think my all time fav sci-fi thing would be Planet of the Apes...Charlton Heston...oh baby...now he had it going on back then! (ha!)...oh...and can't forget Star Trek and the Next Generation...watched those ones too!

  • Hahaha!...Join the club....Planet of the Apes was also my favorite....and Charlton Heston is one of my heroes. I haven't watched any of the shows that you mentioned before, but If you ever made a video of em' I'm sure It'll be one of my favorites. :)) OH!..check out the Ark II page I put up on the Sci-fi world wiki.

  • would love to do other videos ...but not on youtube,........I'm all about Barbara Bain and Martin Landau....yes...maybe over at Sci-fi world! Loved Kolchak! Great series! So?...are you going to do charlton Heston for me?....IF!!! You ever do! You MUST include the scene with him being captured by the Apes...and he says something like get your ape hands off of me....they had him in a collar...showed off his chest.....mind...I'm a female here! HA!

  • Hmmmm!..I'll see what I can do, I was thinking about doing a POTA's edit... give me some time to think about I'll see what I can come up with.

  • No recuerdo que esta serie se emitiera en España

  • No pienso que esta serie fue demostrada en muchos países. Pero con el nacimiento del DVD y del Youtube ahora usted puede mirarlo. Gracias por su comentario

  • I absolutely loved Ark II! I remember watching this at the time Space: 1999 was originally on, around '75 or '76. This show was one of my favorites on Saturday morning along with "Isis"! I'm glad you included the original opening for nostalgic reasons, but your opening is absolutely fantastic. And Ark II always suffered from not having a catchy theme song, I thought, LoL. Thank you for making this, Darkstar! What a wonderful surprise.

  • WOW!...somebody else actually remembers the show?, Thanks so much Miranda. I'm ecstatic you liked this. I agree, The theme song wasn't very catchy. and I always thought the opening was a bit tame. It needed more action to really draw you into the show. Space 1999 did an excellent job at that. even U.F.O had a great opening....I always wanted to redo this opening...Oh!..and to honor the show I created a new Ark II Page to Sci-fi world. Thanks again :))

  • Great job Trevor! I've never heard of this series before!

  • Thank you, I guess it was way before you time...I guess that makes me ancient....lol....personally I think you might enjoy it....it's not as flashy as the programs today, But there's something about nostalgic T.V shows that's always interesting.

  • Good work Trevor! Never heard of this series myself but it looks awesome!

  • Thanks very much Jack....I figured you wouldn't have heard of it...lo...l I don't know if it even aired in the UK.... It was on around the same time as Space 1999, and Thunderbirds. A Saturday morning show aimed at kids. It's not really a bad show...just dated!... However, what it lacks in story and special effects it makes up with awesome Props and some unique and interesting camera shots.

  • ^_^ yeah these guys had a far-out motorhome there. I haven't seen this prolly since it 1st was on. I also like the 1 that had a similar ATV-motorhome in zz-"Damnation Alley" movie. I always thought it was the same vehicle, guess not. THX-DS, & 4shure a big upgrade 2 zz-opening. :)

  • Thanks, I think this series must have cost a bundle to make, alot of the early ones either relied on models or the real thing...this one had a big budget apparently..lol. I often wondered if the jumper jet pack was real to or just hooked to a crane....would surprise me if it was the real deal...stunt man be-bopin' all over the forest....What a great job....here's a bit of trivia though...the nose cone for the Ark was later used for the "Space Academy Shuttle"....love the reusable parts. :))

  • I remember also wondering at the time if Terry Lester's jet pack was real. It was so well done. Alas, it was just wires. I also remember "Space Academy" and Jonathan Harris. Fun show too, but Ark II just had the charm. I loved the premise of the show and the contrast of their Ark with the world at the time. Again, Darkstar, thank you for making this video!

  • Mystery solved!.....lol..Thanks, I suspected that it might be on wires. but I've got to tell you they did a fantastic job at making it look real with the shots of him going over water and land, blowing up dust and water vapor. even when the ARK was be-bopin' down the road there was always dust blowin' up behind it. I could spend a life time trying to update all the shows I love, and with fans like you who enjoy this stuff.....I better get busy!....lol....thanks again Miranda.

  • The new version is definately better! Great job putting it together, it does feel more like this time and age:)

  • Thank you supsi...I've always wanted to make a newer version of this, along with some of the other shows I grew up with (Oh Boy!.....I just dated myself...LOL). This one all came together just because of the song. (Pictures in my head...LOL) I wanted to make it as professional as I could...Hard to do with the video, because of the age of it. ...Thanks so much, :))
