  • @Buddo1999: Thanks! It turned out really great and these videos don't convey the real muscle of the amp....

I used the Weber trannies that came with the kit (power: W025130) and the 120V blue tap, along with the red white 540V secondaries which cranked out 540 exactly (270 measured to ground at each rectifier pin). Weber also subbed in the choke for Tweed amps (W014684) as an upgrade because the other was out of stock.

    Voltages from filter caps:

    A: 335 VDC / B: 333 VDC / C: 251 VDC / D: 212 VDC

  • Hey! Nice job,, Which power transfromer did you use and what did the B+ come out too...... Buddo

  • lovely tone. What position do you have your guitar tone control set to?

  • @ihgac Thanks! I bought the guitar for the crunchy and distorted violin hollowbody tone, but was surprised at its great clean sound as well. So for this clip I was on the neck pickup and I believe I had the volume rolled off just a hair to take off some brightness and then had the tone knob down maybe 60-70 percent. You can get a more natural darker tone by combining the volume's tendency to roll off treble along with a milder tone knob setting.

  • Thanks for the kind word RedStrat. The pickups are indeed stock - they aren't too bad really. I do wonder what it would sound like with some higher end pickups and wiring (I hear the pots in particular are pretty suspect in these models and the tone is surely suffering...if only a little).

  • This is with stock pickups? Beautiful tone!

  • That's really beautiful!
