Non è brava!!! Di più!!! Un mostro sacro della lirica. Voce focussatissima sempre sostenuta e un timbro brillante che farebbe invidia ad un pettirosso.
Ms. Serra did a marvelous job with piece. Her voice does not record particularly because of the abundant high formants that are natural to her instrument, however she brings a great balance of depth and brilliance to even out her tone. Not to mention she has one of the most flexible and agile of voices paired with an EXCELLENT technique. Her command of coloratura passages and phrasing overshadow her lack of a true trill :-) This video is an absolute pleasure to listen to. 5/5
This may be a very very traditional and not very exciting staging but for once the veiled Enrichetta di Francia looks like Elvira, making it plausible that Arturo could escape with her. Serra sings accurately with a voice that may resemble the coloratura sopranos of the middle 19th century, who sang with as little vibrato as possible and with flute like tones (according to contemporary reports).
Yes, I marvel over that note every time I listen to Serra sing this. Hence my previous comment, her voice often sounds trumpet or even flute-like and its very clean and precise.
Oh wow! What a delightful contrast to that filthy whore Netrebko. I'm so glad I watched this after the super slutty farce by Netrebko! Really what a fantastic clean performance.
I agree that Serra is much better suited for this role than Netrebko, but insulting Netrebko in such a way you do, does not resemble any civilisation you might expect from an opera lover. Please mind you language.

Sharp, harsh and 'bold' of tone. It lacks real beauty and warmth (like Sutherland, Devia, Massis and Jo). Her technique although is to be respected! 2.5/4.5
This is about as good as it gets for Serra. There is NO hint of out of control high notes or wayward pitch that seem to haunt her whole career. She was obviously having a good nite. 5/4
She has a very brassy voice, almost like Ethel Merman, and her acting is like a small-town drawing room warbler. But I do get a kick out of you -- er, her. 3/3
I remember asking you to post this clip months ago, coloraturafan, when you did the "Vien, diletto e in ciel" contest. Great to see that it's finally up! 4.5/5.

Davvero grandissima: leggiadra, squillante, favolosa nelle agilità! Peccato che, come spesso le accade(va), ometta bellamente i trilli!

Love this performance. Serra's voice never recorded well, so much better heard live.
Netrebko should listen to this so hears how it sound be sung. 5/5

uh, no trill - at all.

Yeah, she has no trill, so I try not to hold that against her. She kind of makes up for that with a pretty solid technique.
