I'm having a problem copying over your save. I put in codebreaker and my USB drive. But when I go to copy the file it shows the file is way bigger than like any memory card. The file size is huge and won't fit on any of my memory cards. Help please? I believe I have the right file. It's something like, "da109ffb-3556-4c33-91e9-a6fc3c96d549.cbs"
Dang, I normally give myself a boost of about level 13 or 15 on Destiny Islands when playing on Expert mode. This is absolutely ridiculous. Sure, it can be done, but why do people do this to themselves. I mean, one might say the same about speed runs, but those require way more skill and knowledge than sitting in front of a TV for 6 hours a day.
i got to level forty when i replayed on an emulator and it was insane, do you think you could put up the save file so that no one ever has to do it again? :P
First of all, I can attest that you can easily get at least 2000 per hour against tidus...it will still take an insane amount of time, but that's not the point. Second, people have speculated that it is a particular beach area that gives the double exp., but i've been playing lately, and noticed something else. I can typically get a double by watching the lock target until looks like (0). Any thoughts? Also, does anyone know of a way of baiting tidus into following you? thanks
@TheArmo818 you fight either wakka, tidus, selphie, all three, or riku for the craziest amount of time gaining less than 10exp for every little thing you do lol
May have to try eBay or search the inet for PS2 CodeBreaker, don't know if you can find one in stores anymore. To put the esnips CodeBreaker save on your memory card, download the file to your computer and copy it to a USB Flash Drive. Start CodeBreaker in your PS2, then insert the Flash Drive and use CodeBreaker to copy it to the memory card.
if you are going to use wakka at all, get at a lower elevation (sand to water is a little hill). This way everytime you hit the blitzball it will miss/go over his head, and you won't have to beat him and start over or deal with that drunk mode he goes into when hit with a ball.
Just do what he does against tidus, its the quickest way to get tech points and there is no chance of killing tidus so its basically an infinite amunt a battle. It might take a bit of time to get used to the timing but once youve got it its not that hard.
With a lot of persistence, you may finish by the end of the year. Try to get at least 3000 points per hour, which would still take quite a bit of time.
If you look closely, you'll see a double ring or a brighter ring than normal (2 overlapping) due to a glitch in the game. (See earlier posts with twilitroad)
Here's another question: Even though it may not technically meet the challenge, could you just whale on the infinitely spawning Shadow Heartless before the second Darkside fight? At one point a piece, it might go faster than this...
Well, amazing job, you kept at it and finally got to level 100!!! Have all of the message boards disappeared about this challenge, where can I find more message boards online about this challenge? Do you know if people are still attempting this? Also, whatever happened to the Roxas level 99 challenge at the beginning of the game in the Station of Serenity?
Sorry, didn't mean to leave the comment twice, also, how many months did this take you to accomplish? How often did you play? Was it hard to keep focus and accomplish this?
It took 288 hours. I worked on it an average of 5-6 hours every day for near 7 weeks. At the time there were several topics on a game board of people claiming they were going to do it. They slowly disappeared, I didn't post anything until I was done, just did it. By the end, I did think I was at the point I may need surgery on my wrist but it got better. I can play normally many hours a day, but this took a lot of constant button pressing.
wow man ive just started with the goal of getting to 100 at d.i, did u practise against selphie? if u did u must gotten annoyed with her little scream she does :P lol
I fought Selphie for a long time because it was so funny every time she got popped in the head. "Are ya ready? ... OW!" Plus, I couldn't get the hang of teching Tidus when I first tried but got it after I finally got tired of Selphie.
Awesome video!! So how did you upload this video? I have never been able to figure it out, my graphics always look bad whenever I do and I heard they get worse when put into youtube. Your graphics seem great here, so, how did you do it? Thanks!
I got a video capture card for my computer that cost about $40 (reduced) and recorded it with Windows Movie Maker at 640x480 but reduced it to 320x240 for uploading. Now I normally use a different record mode at 320x240 that isn't as good but sacrifices some sound for a little extra video info and makes smaller files. (something about 150K on the menu, I think)
haha I started doing this a while ago, thought I would be the first but you beat me to it. I was levelin by just repeatedly knocking that hawaiian dudes volleyball over his head, you can get pretty good exp that way
Sorry, I don't completely understand, I think I am going to just ask at a Best Buy or a store similar to that. Is that a good thing to do? If you can simplify it down for me even more, that would be helpful also! Thanks!
So I put the capture card into the computer, that gets hooked up to a PS2 cable but what about the normal set up for a PS2 where it hooks up to the tv and an outlet? Would I be able to use it for an Apple Computer as well with the IMovie program?
The PS2 goes in an outlet normally. The Audio/Vid cable plugs to the capture card. To see it on both tv & comp, you must buy "Y" adapters & extra cables to split the Audio/Vid cable to both. The card should have an install program and another for recording. After running the install program, any program that records video may be able to be used but maybe someone with an Apple can help. You won't see video on the comp unless running a program that recognizes the card and displays video.
Sorry, I am pretty bad with technology involving cameras so I will need some help! So will a video capture card will allow me to put the information into the computer? Does the capture card go into the camera or into the computer... how does that work?
The capture card goes in the computer and you hook the PS2 cable to it intead of the TV, or you can "split" the cable to both of them. The card usually comes with a PC program to use or you can use Windows' Movie Maker program.
Wow! That is Awesome! I can't believe someone actually accomplished this!! Anyways, I was hoping to attempt this challenge also, and make a series out of it, just facing Tidus through techs. Anyways, what is the best way to get the video from the television into the computer without ruining the graphics?
I use a cheap video capture that cost about $40 and "Y"ed the sound together so I only need a 2-wire cable. You can get pretty good quality to the computer but will probably be degraded when YouTube converts it. Especially when converting 640 to 320, more than 75% loss of information. It took a little over 288 hours.
Thanks, most of this information I already knew, but it never hurts to get a refresher. I had no idea though that the spot on the beach had an affect on the tech amount, thanks! Actually, I will see if I can get a video onto youtube with the Tidus teching. With school starting it will make it a lot harder, but I will see if I can.
Could this be the reason, I noticed you equipped counter! Does the counter ability allow your experience points to become bold making it 4 exp. every time? When I played I never equipped any of the abilities, maybe counter allows for a more accurate tech! Please, could you test this by releasing a video of you not having the counter ability and one where you do have the counter ability, please! I want to compare the tech values! Thanks if you do.
Abilities don't help, that's just so I could beat him up when I felt like it. It's all in the timing, when you swing your block, how far away, and even where. There are some spots on the beach where it's easier and some spots where it seems to be virtually impossible to do it. It takes a lot of practice, and it helps a lot to let go of the stick just before you swing.
After you block, take 3 steps away to prevent his psycho move, and keep your eye on him. If he runs at you, turn and block (you want this, it gets points faster), if he jumps back make sure he lands before you turn to run at him or he'll go psycho. If you can keep him against the wall or in the corner of the stairs (not by the shed), you get points faster because he can't jump back very far.
The best thing, though, is to follow the circle I did in the beginning and try to get him to run after you each time. Note the points on the beach where it's easiest to get the Double-Tech and what spot/direction to run to get him to follow instead of jumping away.
No disrespect but, 5000 points per hour is impossible to get per hour, no matter how hard you try. I believe the highest I ever got was 3050-3100 points in 1 hour and I teched every single time for 1 hour straight, no mistakes! What allowed you to get 5,000 points in 1 hour?
Actually, my best was quite a lot higher, but I don't have the records I kept each day. This wasn't my best, but if you look when they first clash at 2:09 until they clash at 3:27, it's 25 blocks (1-26) with each having the double (or bright) ring for 4 point techs. 3600 sec/hour divided by 78 seconds times 100 points equals 4615 points/hour.
The other time I got to level 47, I learned to tech against Tidus every single time, took about 25 hours to get there. If you play perfectly, you can gain 3000 points per hour teching Tidus. This is an amazing amount. I got to level 18 in 1 hour and 7 minutes exactly.
Amazing, I didn't think anyone actually completed this challenge. I myself, got to level 47 2 different times on expert mode, when battling Wakka it took between 50-60 hours, and I played for 1 hour every few days, gaining like 11-1200 experience points every hour. T
LOL this is impossible i think that there r 2 options: or u hav no life and played on stupid Island training urself 2 death or the one witch is the true u hav used a code with a Gameshark Explder or Codebreaker!
it's imposeble to kill anyone in one hit with that puny sword. see you can get the strenth to 200 you stil wont be able to do it. caz you can only do it with the keyblayd
Just like Final Fantasy IV (I think it was that one). Also, the graphics in this game (KH) haven't aged gracefully and SCREAM 2002. It's still lots of fun, though!
wow u must be super patient i left at level 16

Towards the end, I was getting over 5000 points per hour.

Amazing, I didn't think anyone actually completed this challenge. I myself, got to level 47 2 different times on expert mode, when battling Wakka it took between 50-60 hours, and I played for 1 hour every few days, gaining like 11-1200 experience points every hour. T

Im actually thinking it either took him about a month(or more) or he used the codebreaker after level 50.

Just like Final Fantasy IV (I think it was that one). Also, the graphics in this game (KH) haven't aged gracefully and SCREAM 2002. It's still lots of fun, though!
