Some people are so ignorant. All the terrible comments make me sad. I am a dwarf, and it really hurts me to see all these uneducated people saying nasty things about us. It doesn't hurt my feelings, it just makes me feel sad for the person. It makes me sad that they can't accept people who are different as actual people. The only thing different about us is our size. We are small people living in an average sized world. It's hard enough without having to deal with all your nasty comments.

@WhereisSara I think the real answer is that anybody under 4' 10" can join the LPA - Little People of America. Being little doesn't have to mean one is a dwarf, IMHO. And by the way, former Labor Secretary Robert Reich is 4' 9" I believe. I don't remember anyone ever referring to him as a dwarf.

There was a dwarf at my elementary school was picked on when he arrived the first day. Me and my gang became his bodyguard and smashed anyone who even looked at him funny. He was white we were all black. When you saw him you saw us. Nobody fucked with him for the rest of the school year.

I mean, they're humans, just like us.

These people are amazing, for going on with daily life despite that they are not allowed to do certain things (driving) because of their height. I truly respect people continuing with their life and making the best of it, despite a health/body 'problem'.

I've actually quite a few folks with achondroplasia but I've seen very few folks who were in the 7 foot range. The only legit 7 footer I've seen is some basketball player on the Harlem Globetrotters 7,4" Shagari Alleyne. I am only 5,9" so I am 4-5 below his shoulders...These folks would make me look like that guy compared to me...except they are proportioned differently from normal-sized to extremely tall folks.
