  • I played it again

  • Very COOOL!

  • very trippy if you are in shrooms haha

  • Cool tune. Who cares if they repeat the same thing over and over when the music rocks?

  • @nomejodas101 .. Its called "Repeated Pattern" a globally accepted orchestral term/application, that is used as an undermining concept in "modern" music

  • They played in the Middle Earth when I was in a group called Jade Hexagram playing for the first time in London...wow I totally loved this group.

  • reminds me of CAN records

  • i did it again, again

  • They opened for Hendrix.

  • @mjazzguitar ISN"T IT AMAZING that Hendrix had them open for him, about 20 yrs ahead of their time?? I saw Hendrix at 2nd Atlanta Pop on July 4th 1970, a couple of months before he died, awesome concert, and NOT available on dvd - what a crime.. Soft Machine will likely always sound fresh and innovative! true jazz

  • @WmJoseSinclair I believe it was the other way around--that they opened for Jimi when the 2 bands toured, tho I could be wrong. It's also possible they alternated headlining. Either way, it's actually somewhat less surpirising they toured together, as they were all under the the management of Mike Jeffries (who is said to have later absconded with the company funds and high-tailed it to the Carribbean). Anyway--along with the John Coltrane Quartet--these are my favorite bands--ever!

  • yes whole album

  • riff is like The Kings, but very good

  • if there had been techno music in the 60s, "We did it again" would have been the No. 1 on the list. the main difference is that this is high quality music from a super talented band, but todays techno or other bands are just crap, they have nothing to do to music.

  • I did it again, I did it again, I did it again I did it again, I did it again, I did it again I did it again, I did it again, I did it again I did it again, I did it again, I did it again I did it again, I did it again, I did it again I did it again, I did it again, I did it again .

  • Ive got this album for sale. Original vinyl. Ross

  • @fnnichols with all moving parts?

  • a blessing for my hears....

  • vi ho scoperto solo ora ma vi amo!!!

  • ummmmmm

  • It begins with a blessing/ And it ends with a curse/ Making life easy/ By making it worse

  • we did it again!

  • One of their best tracks, man! And Kevin could sing it for 40-50 minutes. Something from Cat's Squirrel.

  • A good one off volume one. I would also suggest putting up "So boot it all" or "Why are we sleeping?". Those are some other awesome tracks off the first album.

  • This is like a more cerebral, conceptual version of "You Really Got Me" by the Kinkies.

  • The "kinkies", sounds a better name than the one they used.

Would'nt surprise me if that's where Dave got the inspiration for his great hook line.

    Great albums both - 1 & 2

  • @cartoonlike

More cerebral in some respects, but it stays doggedly on the I-chord for almost all of its duration! Harmonically, it represents a great simplification (except for the chordal pyramid Mike Ratledge erects over the repeated riff).

This kind of I-bVII riff goes back at least to the late 50s, and "Sunshine Of Your Love" is another example.

  • @cartoonlike The Kinkies—lol.

  • I love this song!!!!

    :D

  • lol!!! me too! xD simply wonderful!
