Alright, a bit of feedback on this kind of crimping. For hobbyist purposes this is fine - even soldering is fine - but for any kind of production or long term use, especially when the wires are moving, both plier crimping and soldering are unacceptable. The connection forms a stiff-flexible transition which is prone to breaking under stress. The terminals are designed to mitigate this, but this only works when using the correct crimp tools. Expensive, but necessary for a proper connection.

@efreyre These do not have to be crimped - I've soldered them many times and they work fine when you don't have a crimping tool available. In most cases, soldering results in a stronger connection as well. That being said, I still prefer crimping them as the result (when done right) is very strong, quick and reliable.
I was looking for an automotive application but I think this video provides enough insight into making custom wiring harnesses. Thanks for the how to!

I would hit that with a little solder because without a crimper tool the wire tends to pull out when using this method.
