  • 1985 wow, i was only 15 years old. Wow years have gone by so fast. Heard this song got up and danced my ass off in my kitchen floor. Love it. thanks for putting up this song.

  • I have been looking for this for YEARS. But I thought it was blackberry jam! Then it hit me like 5 mins ago that its ROCKberry Jam. Hell it's been a good 26 years...anyway found it as soon as I remembered the right lyrics. Thanks for posting this! Memories of Jr. High School dances in Southern Cali...ahhh.

  • wow.....reminds me of Vegas radio Y97 KYRK then Power 97.......

  • @azdawg115 lol..wow..you went way back..even though KCEP was better (back then) lol

  • When I heard LA Dream Team as a kid, when the hip hop scene was still pretty new, I felt back then, at 6 years old, that this shit was wack... And it is just as wack as I remembered.

  • i remember seeing them live @ the L.A. Street Scene in '86..

  • @thegoat48

yup! too bad they cancelled that scene. it was awesome for the few years it lasted.

  • am i really that old????

  • this brings back memories of good times

  • I seeing deam team, toddi tee nad i forget who else at the LA forum around 1985 with the homies from Compton CA, Largo block good ole days with good ole music.

    thanks

  • Thank you for posting! I haven't heard this since it was always on the radio...at night on KBUZ (the then R&B station in Wichita, KS) back in 1985. Thank you for uncovering what was the mystery artist(s)!

  • This is bringin back memories of junior high school dances at Juan Crespi in Richmond, CA and dances at Maple Hall in San Pablo......woooooooooow this is throwback!

  • a blast to the past

  • House shoeswith the tooth brush in my back pocket instead of a rag, Pumas with the fat daddies, playboy hat, North Long Beach in this....

  • i kinda like this era of west coast hip hop cuz i mean yeaa it aint nwa or eazy but i mean its so eazy to relax to i mean in the early 80s it was just dancin and mackin to girls wit big hoop earrings and nappy hair <3. even if the gangs were still around they left tht shit off the waxx

  • @mrcash193 When this came out, West Coast gang banging wasn't even that big of a deal because there were no Crack Heads to sell dope too, at least not in the numbers that would be in the late 80's. Most people that you grew up with that were in gangs you could still be cool with in high school. The shit has just gotten too ridiculous over the last 20 years.

  • When I listen to this music now after all this time, I realise how powerful it was in influencing what came afterwards - everything from Techno - to Acid House, all the bass lines and sound are in this music!

  • Ah, brings back happy memories. As a teenager, I thought this was the coolest, most futuristic thing, LOL. I think I had this on one of Morgan Khan's Streetsounds compilations. N.Y. vs. L.A. Beats -- I think. I'm older now, and exact memory eludes me...oh yeah, of course, all those references to West Coast acts, Unknown DJ, Egyptian Lover, all favourites of mine. I think now it must have been that album, compiled by Mike Allen. If you're not in the UK, you may not know what I'm talking about ;-)
