The pickup is mounted under the head on the coordinator rods just below the neck just like a Gold Tone GT-500 Banjitar. It's a cheap/generic Ibanez humbucker. For strings I use Ernie Ball regular slinky 10's electric guitar strings. I think I was capo'd at the 4th fret only because it worked with the key of the drum machine. I normally do not capo. Open G tuning.
