I just had to click on this because I saw a video entitled Dionne Warwick sings Kyrie by Mr Mister and I was like "What!?" I had to see how that turned out and I was extremely surprised. Her voice actually works for the song. It is completely not her style, but by the sounds of this video I think she might could have had a career singing 80'sish pop songs.
Remember this aint her kind of music, if only she turn it into an R&B song it would sound killer. She nailed it dead on, goos job on a song that isnt even your genre
I remember, as a early teen, loving music soooo much, waking up on a saturday morning in nyc and turning on channel 11, and THERE IS WAS SINGING THIS SONG! I fell in love from that day on. This woman sang EVERY GENRE on that show and love almost all of it :)
svaran, speaking of vocal style, I have an album by Marilyn McCoo called "Solid Gold," and she covers "I'll Tumble 4 Ya!" by Culture Club, "Let's Dance" by David Bowie and "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats, among other songs. It is so hilarious, hearing her try to sing songs that were NOT meant for her to sing!
shockingly excellent! Like Tom Jones doing Kiss from Prince!

As good as Dionne Warwick is, she's more suited for R & B and soul, not Top 40.

Dionne Warwick has an amazing voice. She's great. I love her hit 'heartbreaker'....she does a good job here but there's no one like Mister Mister!!!!

WTF? When did she do this?

This is from the Solid Gold TV show Dionne hosted in the 80's. She sang a song from the top 40 every week.
