  • Best feeling, best guitarplaying, best everything! Steve Vai is not from this world!

  • Goosebumps.

  • this song has got to be the best!

  • finally someone who knows how to use a sustainer to make something beautiful

  • why he leave g3?

  • why would you like drugs...

when you can hear songs like this...

  • this man does praying to the guitar

  • 9:27 I'M AN AIRPLANE DON'T HATE

  • this is my asian violin player i designed it myself

  • The drummer is always so mental lol its a calm song and he's going for it

  • WOW this song...since the first time i heard it...i fall in love with it...Steve Vai really KNows how to make the guitar cry...

  • desde que escuche esta cancion por primera vez me enamore de ella...la manera en que steve vai hace llorar a la guitarra...no tengo palabras para decribirla mas...simplemente WOW!!!WOW!!!

  • second coming of Jesus Christ here everybody! flawless performance!

  • How do you play the part at 1:08 ? does he play just using the whammy and no picking ?

  • so beautiful! i thought the guitar would go out of tune at 2:48 ;D but nothing like that happened. Steve Vai is God on earth! thanks for sharing.

  • Steve vai isn't God but he is definitely awesome.

  • I am speechless. This guy is easily top ten greatest guitarists ever. I have never seen something so amazing!

  • STEVE VAI = MY LOVE

  • Steve Vai owns God haha

  • incredible. the man's music is almost tangible, like you could swim in it.

  • is it just me or do i see the god of all guitarists? or generally god. just completely breath taking. :)

  • Steve Vai's god, but I like the Astoria version much more, except for the ending, from 6:54 till the end. Satriani rocks!!!!

  • @wlunalovegood92 I agree with you, the sounds is alittle warmer in astoria. and just a few little things i like that he does in astoria rather htan this one.

  • Steve Vai > God

  • @nolan067 Steve Vai > (For The Love Of) God

  • Beautifully amazing..

  • While I'm not necessarily a fan, Steve's playing is something to behold. Quite probably the best guitarist of his kind, and his skill always leaves me in awe! Truly outstanding!!

  • @Rodrython4 Both

  • @Rodrython4 both. and sustainer in the neck pickup. and a volume pedal.

  • He is talking to his guitar while he plays. He is talking in a language that can only be produced by his guitar. Steve vai rocks!!!!

  • If people are looking for speed they should check out Yngwie Malmsteen..

For me Yngwie's music is numb, too heavy and fast - it doesn't tell a story or anything -.-

I like Steve and Joe a lot better ;)

  • @dreuzz

    I agree 100%

  • love u

  • Breath-taking...

  • Woah!!! That's Just Too Incredible & Freakin' Awesome!!! Steve Vai Is Simply Just The Best!!! Rock On, Bro!!

    - BigWillieWillHom :)

  • outstanding!!

  • lastima q tiene uno que chambiar y no tiene uno recursos pa estudiar pero de que es inspirador lo es.Dios te bendiga y conserbe tus manos

  • SO BEAUTY :LIKE THE BIRDS SinGin' !!!!!!!

  • And people say vai is all speed and no feeling. Please. This song proves he has alot of feeling

  • ah, my favourite song from him. that musical phrase needs no companion, can only be performed alone, cannot be counterfeit-ed. not merely skill on fretboard here, but master in composition. at the last, the way he falls, and then rises again to repeat the trademark phrase, is theatrical and brilliant.

  • Steve is a gift for the hole world.

Best tune ever, he´s THE inspiration for sure

    "life is good"

  • my favorite vai's solo

  • who's the drummer?? is it Travis Barker??,. woohhoo!! AWSOME!

  • sometimes he looks like he's gonna cry in the beginning. he's so amazing.

  • i love the ending!

  • This songs makes me happy, makes me alive makes me want to fly ang keep going until I reach my dreams. Inspiring. Beautiful. Perfect

  • Awesome!!!

  • what kind of effect is from 1:36 ?

  • @LinoLcl Me thinks it's some kind of delay pedal and he's playing harmonics... but I don't take my word for it, I'm guessing

  • @LinoLcl Sounds like a combination of delay, tremolo and volume swells. May be wrong tho

  • @LinoLcl It's a simple volume pedal, a morley little alligator i think.

  • @LinoLcl it's just a delay effect

  • @LinoLcl i think its a delay and a volume pedal

  • the only people who don't like steve vai or at least respect his music have never felt the kinds of emotions he puts into his songs

  • Amazed more and more each time! Vai is just too much!! Way ahead of anyone's time!

  • amazing song.. i think i just had a spiritual moment.

  • BEST PERFORMANCE LIVE EVER!!!

  • Very few rockers have graced as gracefully as Steve

  • CHIKH ECHYOUKH, spécial dédicace aux connaisseurs

  • fuck, i hope Steve Vai writes something like this for my funeral.

  • @macdonaldryan420 After watching this and having a good cry I read this and almost fell off my chair laughing!

  • i don't need any drugs to be in ecstasy listening to this... Truly a Guitar God!

  • shame on 2 dislikers lol

  • i didnt think he cud play it as good as he did on the astoria dvd. But somehow he played it even better. Unhuman ability

  • Mmmmmm, so delishious. Thank you!

    Tune Was here!

  • I weep with the guitar.

  • beautiful riff, he's gotta be one of the best songwriters ever.

  • he is soo dramatic in this song - that whole scathing vs whisper soft attack thing of his realllly comes out and the way he plays everything is very unorthodox - which means unique and in this song - gorgous - the violins really fit in perfect too - I want a sustainer

  • un tema muy lindo y se ase mas lindo cuando te recuerda a una persona lindisima q ba a estar sienpre en mi corazon

  • would anyone know how Steve does that effect at 1:14? or is it really as simple as knocking on the body? ill try it tomorrow but any help would be greatly appreciated :D GO STEVE!!!!

  • @pimorules its the sustainer in his guitar, he knocks on his guitar so that he can get his strings to vibrate, once they start, the magnets in his sustainer keep his notes going, virtually forever.

  • @pimorules well since the sound there is extremely loud, feedback is easily acheived, so when he knocks the body, the entire guitar vibrates causing feedback, but it gives that controlled sound and mellow tone.

  • The Best

  • eargasm

  • in my opinion, i believe that his Alive in an Ultra World performance was probably the best one that Vai plays. but this performance is just spectacular. when it gets down to the last half of the song, he just melds with his guitar in a way that most people do not.

  • i cry went i hear this song.....great song mr.steve....

  • 1:14 haha cool, knock-ignited note ;d

  • his facial expressions make me lol

his guitar skills make me cry :)

  • this song make me cry

  • the outro mad me cry. i felt the emotions..

  • la cancion mas hermosa de steve vai

  • @MaralizeLegawana No, FLO = JEM 77FP - FLOral patern ...

  • Yes the most talented, absolutely the most talented guitar player ever, no one will ever surpass this!!!

  • <3 my hero <3

  • is there a pedal equivelant for the fernandez sustainer?

  • @benos87 try using a digitech whammy

  • @benos87 I doubt it. I can't imagine how that would even work.

  • @benos87 yes, search google, or youtube. its called Ebow

  • @daafiedos its called a sustainer. ebow, well it's a handheld portable sustainer (ebow), but Vai can afford for the shit to be built in.

  • @macdonaldryan420 actually Vai uses a fernandes sustainer system (thats what those mini toggle switches and the third knob are for) google it, its pretty cool, im considering getting one

  • sorry for that type of pedal used at 1:31? or sound? beautiful sounds

  • @melllitas

    A volumepedal, simple as that

Try searching youtube for volumeswells or something like that, same technique, just rarely done with a pedal :D

  • @melllitas

    I believe it's overdosed delay + octaver

  • This is my favourite song. It really touches me and it inspires me to continie practise guitar eventhough I dont think I'll ever perform as good as this! Wow.

  • Sound of Heaven :x

  • A música mais linda....pura emoção... the Beautiful song!!! The best!!

  • it's amazing. such heavy use of tremolo bar and doesn't get out of tune .. not one bit.

  • Flakevee, the reason they dont go out of tune, i think its the type of Ibanez they had a special bridge

  • Yeah Stevie!!...

This guy has taken it to the next level.

  • I won tickets off the local radio station and attended this very show.. It was so fucking epic!!!

  • Brividi e emozioni ogni volta..poco da dire..:)

  • just THE BEST!!

  • OMG! best sounds from a guitar!!!

  • i gota see thsi guy live omfg

  • BEAUTIFUL TONE! ..... no one could copy his tone I believe

  • @buthetbecco

I thought so to until i heard the cover by alejandro regal, not perfect, but super impressive.

  • @buthetbecco Well first you´d have to sell your house for gear

  • xD everytime I hear this guitar, Flo, makes me want to buy a fernandes sustainer for my Alessandra (my guitar)

  • j'adore j'adore j'adooooooooore

  • hahaha, how cool is that move at 9.12

  • it's not cool, it's Epic!

  • Since catching this song on Palladia, I've been addicted to it. Of the "speed" guitarists, I think this piece is the best with the most spirit.

    Amazing.

  • o my gosh my guitar would be so out of tune. That sound is to die for.

  • This version is nothing ... the Astoria is the best one...

  • havnt seenthis version, astoria version almsot made me cry first time i heard it

  • steve vai = god

  • @carmelosa100 steve vai>god

  • @aggguy666 no steve vai is not greater than paul gilbert

  • @carmelosa100 didn't you get the memo? Clapton is God, then Phil Keaggy, then Steve Vai. a trinity of rock gods.

  • @carmelosa100 didn't you get the old school memo? Clapton is god followed closely by Phil Keagey. did you ever catch him in that 80's movie "Crossroads?" yeah, ralph machio beats steve vai. shaw, right.

  • This guy is a soul!

  • i think the astoria version is better

  • ah.... an ingenius composition...

  • Vai has gat a Tatoo? (0:28) Cool! Does anybody know what it is?

  • The violins were especially appropriate for this song... but ultimately Steve makes it happen!

  • I bet his wife was like :D after a song like this being deticated to her

  • He dedicated this song to Clinton Kiersten (sp). Any ideas who this is and why the dedication? Thanks!

  • a friend of him that he met in mineapolis when Pia was pragnant

  • So wonderful......

    Up thanks !

  • Saw this on HD/Cable and had to buy the entire "Wild Things" set on Blu Ray - the show and band are superb - but this song in particular is incredible. Steve, I had no idea....now I'm a fan.

  • @RVJRFL Then prepare for a wonderful musical adventure while discovering his music...

  • This isn't anywhere near as good as you people are making it out to be, if anything its "ok"

  • It's the same with good wine.. You first need to develop a proper taste before you can judge it.

Nah j/k everybody his own opinion!

  • i can see his soul playing!

  • I prefer in astoria :D

  • I can't stop watching this performance :D

  • what a sound!!!!

  • I live to see a half good cover of this. Simply, only Steve can play it this "organic"

  • o_O'!!!

  • Unbelievable. Vai at his best.

  • BEST LIVE EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
