Amazing cover dude, i left a video response of my cover of ''There is a light that never goes out'' what be great if you had a listen and told us what you think. Outstanding work pal
I have a confession to make as I'm a bit of a music pleb at times - the first time I knowingly heard this song, it was the David Ford version encompassing all his usual bittersweet beauty, tragedy and hopeless romance. Imagine my surprise when I found out he'd covered it from the Smiths original version. Lyrically fantastic, so I just assumed that David had written it himself!
Having now heard both versions, i still prefer this, but only as i'm not much of a smiths fan.
A great version of this song by a truly talented artist. Kudos. I also recognised it as Coventry England... My home town. Followed the route from the ringroad, passed Careys, round the skydome I to what is now ikea plaza up greyfriars to new union street, passed the cop shop, council house and down to the Campbell.
I don't know the guys talented I'm sure but the smiths do it waaaaay better I'm not saying this was bad it has its ups but nothing can compare to the original
By far the best cover I've heard. I don't think it's fair to compare this to the Smiths because obviously no other version will ever compare to the Smiths own, he isn't trying to be like or as good as the Smiths, he just wants to sing a beautiful song. And I think he has done so beautifully.
there is a light that never goes out any version you will find be noel gallaghers the smiths or even david frosts its a song that that cant go wrong and should be best song ever writen x
I am from near coventry and used to use that driving route to town all the time. I was sure i recognised the ringroad and then after seeing the skydome i couldn't think where else it could be! :)
