  • i feel giddy @_@

  • how can you not get dizzy with that dance

  • @xOEHLALA doing vienese waltz is so easy, you just dont think cos the steps are so easy and you dont get dizzy

  • @lolloldog It's one of the more challenging dances. If you think it's easy, you aren't trying hard enough.

  • does any1 knows what song is at the beginning? there seems to be more than just blauen donau. i'll really appreciate any reply. thanks

  • love the song, dress and dance

  • HOW does she manage to do the whole thing with almost no spotting and still not get dizzy :| impressive stuff..

  • The dress, ok. I hear, but the footwork, watch the feet. As bacio says the dancing is great.

  • Comment removed

  • lol sitting in the crowd at 1:10 looks like raiden from mk

  • no kidding, looks like like she ripped off her curtains and used them as a shawl.

    but, the dancing is great!

  • Viennese Waltzes are gorgeous! In fact, they were only to be done by the Imperial Family of Austria, The Habsburgs....so other's would be in trouble if they were caught doing so.

  • That is 100% bullshit. From where is that "information"?

  • i know no thing about dancing but one thing i know people who dancing work well with their partner in real life.

  • the lady was so swift...... amazingg...

  • I agree with brookswift. They are very elegant, but the timing is WAY off..

  • This Is Art !

  • Brookswift, I wonder if its UTUB's fault. The compression seems to frequently mess up music/ vid timing

  • the musicality in this dance is horrid. it's so disconnected from the music.

  • wow. i used to think ballroom dancing was just about twirling in circles but u really have to work with those feet!!! don't they ever get dizzy!!???

  • @ckdd86 That's why the switch between natural and reverse turns (clockwise and counter clockwise). You do get dizzy but it's so much fun! And the steps aren't too hard. After you get the foot positions down you just have to keep a good dance frame.

  • hey. can some one tell me. I love dancing, is there any way i can learn these beautiful dances with partners by myself? id really like to learn... are there any videos on youtube? and what other dances are good??

  • @jozaow456 If you want to start with something easy I'd suggest Foxtrot, Cha-cha, or any form of two-step.

  • Anyone know their Vienese Waltz? All I see are R and left turns and R and Left Fleckerels (sp?) Funny only 2 different steps danced turning CW and CCW made up their entire performance yet it was spectacular. Humbling. Need to practice the basics a LONG time to look like that

  • @walshlg1517 Viennese Waltz in modern competitive ballroom only has those two moves officially. There was also a quick underarm turn and a mazurka-like step while they were in an open position.

Their form is exceptional, but the musicality and timing is horrid. It's like they are dancing without hearing or listening to the music.

  • I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this dance ... so graceful and elegant!

  • out of timing on the slow part. They're fast.

  • wla ko ka relate

  • what is this sog called?

  • The Blue Danube (On the Beautiful Blue Danube) - by Johann Strauss II

  • nothing like what we used to dance in my native Austria.

  • @Isilmewen

That's not true. What they do on the TV shows is still waltzing. And these are not the only waltz steps, they didn't even do a basic 6 step turn. Though yes, Viennese is hard.

  • me+tim fo'eva

  • I've noticed that when the women are ballroom dancing they always tilt their head back in an exaggerated motion. Why do they do that? You would think it would look better if they looked at each other.

  • @evolownfate that's how standard ballroom is danced... women really have what they call "shaping"... even in waltz, tango, foxtrot... they are supposed to be poised to the left (so as the men)... this will let them keep their balance...

  • and it's easier to follow. well.. for me ^^

  • No, actually if you do it differently, it will never look as good as a normal way, a standard way.

  • @evolownfate it is to so they balance each other out. If they both leaned the same way it would make them fall if they spun like they do in this dance.

  • it's to create the form, to make it look more elegant, and keep balance.

if the girl was to look at the guy it would be more like social dancing then competition or performance wise. (looks is a HUGE part in performances and competition).

So it looks nice, very uncomfortable position to do (til you get use to it).

  • @evolownfate i know it is an old comment, but no it looks a lot better back, trust me, it is called frame or taking/holding frame. It also makes turning (Spinning as you may like to call it) Way way way easier. At the same time as making it easier, it adds difficulty, because the girl has to arch with her upper back, not lower, and has to of course remember to do it! IF the people were to look at eachother, and lean back with their upper backs the way they should, it would look awkward

  • @evolownfate My mother is a professional ballroom dancer and I am a dance major - trust me, there are reasons we do things the way we do. It lengthens the line and creates a much nicer shape, and it makes it so the audience is aware that this is a performance, not just two people dancing together.

  • What is the title of the song?

  • The Blue Danube by Johanna Strauss II. I love this piece!

  • @chinchillaluver20 me too!

  • How do their feet move that fast in sync!

  • ok....it;s a bit monotonous.....i mean.....all they do is twirls...

  • @musicguy206

That's because the real and only waltz steps are these and nothing what you see on 'dancing with the stars' and other such tv shows. Trust me, it's way more difficult to do this! And the viennese waltz is one, if not the hardest, dance.

  • isn't slow-fox the only harder dance?

  • @Isilmewen i konw this is hard and ur probably right...

But u gotta admit what u see in dancing shows is still pretty cool :)

  • This is extremely epic.

  • Totally awesome.

  • Why do you say that?

  • Viennese, as it says in the title, twit.

  • Sehr schön!

  • ja gut ausschaun tut ein wiener walzer auf jeden fall, aber er is verdammt schnell! ;)

  • this is a real proper viennese waltz!

  • nice! RAMI AKONG NAKU HA!

  • yeah it's really a Viennese waltz , i like it and i 'm now learning it . it looks natural and graceful and stylish.

  • idk about those gloves, it's distracting.

  • Is the dance really this fast? It looks like it's in fast forward at some parts.

  • It's not fast forward, it IS this fast

  • curious, how come he doesn't really look at her, is that part of the modesty in the days that this waltz was created?

  • It's generally standard. You aren't supposed to stare at your partner, it looks weird. You have to find opportunities to do it, and I think he does a few times if you notice.

  • Also, he's trying to watch wear they're going so they don't smash into the crowd.

I hear they take points off for that. (Haha)

  • In this dance you're suppose to keep looking too the left and not at your partner.

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • swan princess

  • OOM cha cha OOM cha cha .. can you hear this?

  • I LOVE viennese waltz's! I'm studying them atm for gcse. I think I'm probably the only person who likes them lol.

  • Same.. I have to agree with you, you must be the ONLY one that likes it haha..

but just to let you know this is a viennese waltz dance but the music is classical .. so yeah .. test is today so you probably wont get this but good luck !:D

  • Lol, its the same at my dance school, my teachers like what shall we do next and Im the only one screaming viennese waltz!

  • amazing

  • i can t wait to learn the Viennese waltz it is so elegant beautiful, my parents can do this dance well. i just have to wait for my partner to advance in his role.the guy's are the main leaders!

  • Yes, it is, but it is pretty hard too. The steps are easy but the techniques take time and effort, probably because its very fast, everything has to be precise ^^

  • once u know the steps is easy.. i learned it in 2 lessons at danceschool.. it is sooo nice to dance...

  • Super. I've watched several times. You two have won compettions I think. I'd like to learn just for my own interests in Austria and Germany. I live in the DC area but the lessons that are given are only to catch interests; I need longer. Should one learn the English waltz first? Okay, thanks for your video

  • lol english waltz?

  • Such grandeur, so spectacular, so unique...

  • They ae so amazingly graceful.

  • interesting!

  • wow they dance amazing!

what's the name of the song??

    plz get back at me..

  • i think its "the blue danube"

  • correct.

  • On the Beautiful Blue Danube

  • I know that you already got an answer, but the song was written by Strauss. He wrote A LOT of great waltzes. You should look him up sometime if you're interested. :)

  • yup it is Blue danube but...the first to 0:47 seems rather different to blue danube...is it something else? if you know what its called please tell me :)

  • To quote Bio2020 statement a couple of pages before: There is only one song in the video : The Blue Danube. It begins with the 2nd half of it (or the bridge, if you would )and then goes to the first half. Hope this helps.

  • well have to admid that the first time i did this dance i became a little dissy, but it won't come back when you're used to the way how to keep your head and the way you should look,

  • Exquisite!!! Quite exquisite!!!! Congratulations!

  • how can people spin so much?

  • Its all in the head-literaly

  • i think it is the most divine thing ever...i am taking lessons i hope i`ll make it soon :)

  • im the only dude i know who can actually do a viennese waltz. i just can never find a female dance partner for it since i dont have much time to dance anymore and my former dance partner moved to another country. =\

  • Great :-))

  • haha...i meant "Was ein Komponist!"

  • Wie ein Komponist!

  • Tutte le composizione di Johann Strauss sono belissima! Tante tante brave!

  • *bellissima

  • There is only one song in the video : The Blue Danube. 2nd half and then the first half.

  • How wonderful . I can dance it so fast too.

  • well they could more ...

  • what fist song tangoll? the first waltz-part you can hear in this film is the second main part of "An der schönen blauen Donau" there is no part of "Rosen aus dem Süden" in this film !!! i know what i am saying so do not try to teach me!!

  • Well, except for the schönen bit earlier. And this 'fist song', I am very interested in learning more about it.

  • they came as a special guest to dance at the osaka international dance competition on june 17!!

  • excuse me, but as far as I kno... the first song is "An der schönen Blauen Donau" theres no Roses from the South in there

  • yes .. that is right , that's waht i am saying but nobody believes me
