Closely listen to an Inception dvd made prior to the January the 8th Tucson shooting, especially around the dialogue, "Do It." Check my quotes for more information.
Such a beautiful song. I think Gary was the perfect drummer for S&E era Pavement but stuff like this shows what a piece of shit he was at times, and its clear that he had to go.
when I saw these guys in 1992 (in a classroom at Pitt University - thanx Manny!)Gary was so out of control that I had the feeling the band would self destruct right before my eyes...
it was not a boring show by any means but the chaos made it seem more like a practice session than a band touring for an album
I was at the Masquerade show in Atlanta same year when he fell off the stage as the drums come in on "In the Mouth a Desert." You see it on the Slow Century DVD. At the time I'd only heard them, never seen them. Prior to the show, as the rest of the band sets up their equipment, GY staggers around the stage muttering incoherently. I turned to my friend and said "that roadie's so drunk the band has to set up themselves." When Gary fell off the stage SM looked like he wanted to kill him.

Gary Young is such a jackass. I love how Stephen just ignores him like he wasn't doing anything.

Gary Young/Belguim 1992
Dear diary,
Today I played with my band,
Made a hand stand in front of the crew,
drank a beer,
played again,
and this will be legend.
Thanx

Gary young looks like a short order cook named chick that I used to work with. Where was louder than you think? I always pictured Jack Tone Road.
I bet they picked a lot of shrooms on Rock Creek in Milton. I got the knowledge, how hip is that hipsters!

Pete Best could have done the job... too bad he wasn't around. He's good with race cars too.

Gary Young is one of the greatest indy drummers of all time - he blows away Steve West. No comparrison.

Yeah, who would've thought race car drivers would make such great drummers?
