  • But Brahmalokaḥ sanātanaḥ is not the same as the Satyaloka planetary system. This Brahmaloka is eternal, whereas the Satyaloka planetary system is not eternal. And to distinguish between the two, the adjective sanātana has been used in this case. According to Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī, this Brahmaloka is the loka or abode of Brahman, or the Supreme Lord.

  • @vedicshlokas That's acording to Hinduism. Buddhism in contrast teaches that all planes including Brahmalokas are impermanent.

  • Brahmalokaḥ sanātanaḥ —eternal spiritual planets is Vaikuṇṭha, the kingdom of God, which is sanātana, or eternal, and is therefore not exactly like the material creations. The virāṭ universal form of the Lord is an imagination for the material world. It has nothing to do with the spiritual world, or the kingdom of God. Sometimes Satyaloka, the planet in which Brahmā resides, is also called Brahmaloka.

  • You have done it again David. This is another Oscar for Best Picture of the year. Thank you for making these shorties, they are a real inspiration for my practice, especially when I lack motivation. I love you man! As ever, may all benefits gained through our practices benefit all beings. With metta. Fabien

  • Very interesting. I've not tried longer than 10 minutes or so... 7 days? wow. Sure, it's relief... but, ultimately - isn't that selfish because you're not there for others during that time? When I'm quiet - that state is there... I guess it would go on indefinitely if I didn't "do" something or, intend to come out of it quickly. If I return to usa from Thailand I'd like to visit you. I've found numerous things online where you've been spot-on with descriptions of jhanas and meditation specifics
