Im not 100% sure about the glasses because the 3d glasses that support the latest 3dtvs use a signal to transmit the signal that is part of the frame, If you just take out the lenses I think it won't work. I'm not 100% sure but I'm like 90% sure. So to everyone doing that you should research which kind of 3d tv you have.

Them being flat or curvy has nothing to do with how they work, one lens permits certain parts of the screening to enter and blocks the rest, and the other lens permits the certain parts of the screening and blocks the rest, together they form an image in your head, those certain parts of the screening are what an left and right eye worlds see, it emulates the distance between human eyes, giving the illusion of depth, so angle doesn't matter to that illusion as long as the filter works.

It probably won't work... If you don't know if they will work or not it means that they won't as you have to keep the lenses in the correct orientation (as in keep them on the same angle as they were in the original glasses... You can prove this to yourself audience through turning your glasses upside down when your at the cinemas... All of a sudden the 3D will be reversed. Alternatly, you could close one eye and look through one lense, you will notice the image swaps as u rotateit(polarization)

it shouldn't affect anything that the lenses aren't perfectly flat because all those lenses do is prevent one of the 2 images from coming through and vise versa... so the angle doesn't matter... its probably easier to mass produce when the glasses are flat is all.. ;)

You can make a pair of 3D glasses for any frame. All you need is a Prescription and Polarized Lenses. You make one lens 90 degrees off the polarizing axis and the other lens dead on the polarizing axis. And there you have 3D glasses.

@shocxxxx Starting in early May, Sony is going to start charging extra for the 3D glasses that they use to pay for. So on top of the 15 dollar ticket, it's probably going to be 5 or 10 extra. Since Sony is doing it, most other major companies will probably follow too.

Sony Pictures Entertainment owns the rights to different movies (Spiderman, MIB etc.) Every movie that comes out in 3D, the corporation behind it pays for the glasses, not the theaters. Sony alone wastes 15 million dollars per movie for 3D glasses. Google it, Sony already made an official statement.

The glasses fit me quite well, I've got an unfortunately big head,lol. One thing, don't take those glasses to an iMAX cinema they DON'T work there! When I went to America last year I took my 3D glasses with me, thinking I might take in a movie while I was there, we went to an iMAX feature in a museum, I wore these glasses instead of the ones they were giving out, and just saw a blur all the way through, big dissappointment!

I have a fix for the fact they dont fit (even on my balloon head). I bend the ends of the...arms for lack of better term, so they grip. The plastic is crazy strong so it wont break, just bend. Fixed. and dont worry about them accidentally falling into your bag. I have around 3 pairs at home. They only get recycled after one use anyways.

3D glasses also need to fit over corrective vision glasses. Then those LIMAX glasses need to have big lenses so that you can se the whole screen through them. Then again, I prefer the great outdoors where everything is unpixelated & 3D with no glasses required! ;-)
