I have one that I would be willing to sell. It is brand new with box, papers, everything it came with back in 2006 including the tiny adjustment wrench. I have been offered $5,000 for it, so prior to contacting me, consider that, please. - Danny D
Easily the best production D/A auto (somewhat)available. Nothing else sounds/feels/operates like a Sandshark. I have heard that they still make them, although production is extremely spotty and most are spoken for. You can find them if you look long enough, but be ready to drop about $500 or so for a later model with 3 adjustment screws or $800+ for a first run with 1 adjustment screw. Gun/knife shows are a good place to look too.
I have the MOD hawkins triton/ the microtech ultatech ,pltium carbon fiber, the microtech makora.carbon, ALL GREAT knives, but this was the best OTF ever made to this day...I am A US SEAL.. Have been for yrs , we use the SOG seal elite, but the best is the MPK Ti , thats what i use and my team leader.. The blade is all Titanium, take a look at it
I would buy one right away... Too bad I didn't do that before. Always late :(. Oh well. Any reason why they stopped production? Are the gonna make it once again. I mean why do good things always vanish?? Microtech has stopped knife production too... Man, makes you wonder WHY?!
tough to find, yet fairly cheep is the best way you could say it. you'd have to search the whole net for a month straight, but you will find one. saw one yesterday that was only posted for a half hour and it went for 600.
Coldshot111, DKW (Desert Knife Works) is no longer making the SandShark, or any knives at this time. You can still find SandSharks for sale on knife forums, but they are extremely hard to find, and takes much effort posting on the boards if you are serious enough about buying one. Funny thing is, they are relatively cheap for how rare they are, anywhere from $400 up, but a few can cost $3000 for limited run/low numbered Damascus blade models. The Shark is without question the best OTF ever made.
rofl this knife it 2,299 now.....for a job a fixed blade can do.

Why would you do that to the blade?

lol. It retails from Desert Knifeworks for $1800. Granted they have been out of stock for years.

Jesus h balls, i didn't know otf's were that sturdy.

The DKW's SandShark is one of the only OTF's this sturdy. Very hard to find these days. IMO it is the best production OTF that was ever made.

I've heard they aren't making them anymore. Does anyone know if thats true?
jake1d 3 years ago
No, they haven't been made in years. Very difficult to find on the secondary market because they are one of the most sought after OTF's.
Go here, best write-up & image heavy Sandshark thread I have ever seen:
"jerzeedevil (dot) com"
than look up: "Inside the Sandshark" under automatic knife section.
Here is the direct link:

Remember to replace the (dot) with a . and delete any spaces.
