Nicholas Barker? Who dares to criticize him is either a big fanboy or a complete idiot. He was dimmu's and especially cradle's best drummer. Listen to the first album from cradle. Back then he wasn't so fast as he is now, but his creativity... His creativity never ceases to amaze me. Imo one of the best drummers that ever existed.

What I hate is that wtf.. He doesn't want to catch attention? Never seen a drum solo from him, I'd fucking KILL to see one.

I don't know how the hell he keeps that double bass going throughout the first half of this song. And you're dead-on about his creativeness. Anyone can do blast beats and speed, but his fills and just beats in general are so unique. He never overdoes the speed metal, but dances on the edge of metal and appropriateness to mood of the song. He's absolutely amazing.

Nick's "feel" for the drums is completely pro - this is why he sounds better than other Dimmu drummers. Barker was the best drummer for Dimmu in my opinion.

It's not only about speed. Sure, he's got it, but it's his damn creativity that amazes me the most. He has great creativity with cymbals and always delivers his personal twist to songs. If only there was complete and correct tabulature to their music.

Towards the end if Nick's time in Dimmu he just got progressively got worse and worse, or less and less good. When he played in my town he blamed his "fucked up trigger modul".

My guess is personal problems between certain people in the band, and excessive partying.

I have to disagree with the cheating. Trigger's is a very discussed topic, but i don't think it is cheating, all the triggers does is to make the bassdrum sounds louder. I can imagine Dimmu without triggers, that would be boring, and you can't find many big metal bands who dosent trigg their drums.

My view is that drumming is more about balance and rythm than smashing the damn kit. Which one of the new drummers do you mean, Daray or Lauerano ? HH and Nick kill their both in my opinion.. ;P
